• Dear Senator Lippincott,

    Firefighters shouldn’t have to fight cancer and the system at the same time. I’m writing as a constituent to ask you to support LB 400.

    Firefighters know the job is dangerous — but no one signs up expecting to get cancer from doing it. Day after day they’re exposed to toxic smoke, diesel exhaust, and chemicals most of us never face. When that leads to cancer, they shouldn’t have to battle paperwork and lawyers just to get help, especially while they’re trying to survive.

    LB 400 doesn’t guarantee claims or unfairly blame cities. It simply makes the process fair. Nebraska already recognizes firefighter cancer as job-related after a firefighter dies. This bill makes sure that same recognition applies while firefighters are still alive and going through treatment.

    This is about doing what is right for the firefighters who show up for us on our worst days.

    Please vote YES on LB 400.

    Sincerely,
    {name}
    {city} {cityAnd10}
