The Berne Union Preschool program is a self-sufficient program that depends on tuition dollars to operate the program. The preschool program is a tuition only program, meaning that students are required to pay tuition to attend. This is standard for all preschool programs, as participation in preschool is not required by law. We do not have options for free or reduced tuition; all spots require full tuition. Berne Union's tuition is extremely competitive for Fairfield County and is raised minimally each school year. Tuition is broken up into payments to make the expense more affordable to families. Our tuition rate is much less than most families can find childcare for the same amount of time.

Tuition for the 2024-2025 school year will be $2140. This amount will be spread out over ten equal monthly payments of $214.00, with the first payment being due on May 15^th. The additional payments are due the first of every month between August and April of the school year of attendance.

Per school board policy, tuition payments are due on the first school day of each calendar month. If the payment is more than one week late, a reminder will be sent requesting the past due payment. Families that are two months behind on their payments will be dismissed from the program at the end of the second month, and your child's space will be given to the next child on the waiting list.

Please make your check or money order payable to "Berne Union Local Schools." Please submit payments to your child's teacher. You may also choose to set up direct payments to the district from your financial institute or pay by credit card through an online system.

You are responsible for timely payments each month in order to reserve your child's spot in the program. All tuition payments are non-refundable.

Important: Students will not be permitted to start in August unless the first two payments are made.

I have read the Berne Union Preschool Tuition Policy in full and understand it. My signature below indicates my agreement to abide by it. I understand that I am prepaying for preschool services and that my child will not be able to start preschool until I have made the first two payments (5/15/25 and 8/1/25). I also understand that if I become two months behind on my payments, my child will be removed from the preschool program at the end of the second month and will not be re-enrolled during that same school year.
