                      Voice I - (ages 8-12)For ages 8-12. Feb 17-April 28. NO CLASS March 3. In this class students will work to improve the quality and consistency of their voice. While using traditional and contemporary musical theatre repertoire, students explore the challenges and opportunities to shine on stage as a singer. This class will include some music theory so that the student can understand what is on the paper, song study to understand what they are singing about, and most importantly, learn "how" their voice works, and how to make their voice work for THEM. Please bring a folder and pencil with you to every class. This class is a recommended prerequisite for students who plan to audition for our Youth Theatre program. Tuesdays 5:00-5:55pm. In this introduction to acting, students will learn different aspects of performance by strengthening acting skills and working on character development. Through scenes and skits, theatre games, and improvisation work students will cultivate creativity through imagination and play. This class is a recommended prerequisite for students who plan to audition for our Youth Theatre program. Tuesdays 6:00-6:55pm Instructor: Paulina Neuschwander

                      Musical Theatre Dance I (ages 8-12)For ages 8-12. Feb 17-April 28. NO CLASS March 3. This class will enhance the student's coordination, balance, and flexibility. Students will learn basic musical theatre dance steps, as well as positions, technique, and terminology, through dance combinations and center floor exercises. This class is a recommended prerequisite for students who plan to audition for our Youth Theatre program. Tuesdays 7:00-7:55pm.

                      Rising Stars (ages 5-7)For ages 5-7. Feb 18-April 29. NO CLASS March 4. An Intro to Musical Theatre class for young performers. In this fun and creative class, we aspire to have students fall in love with music, the stage, performance, and all aspects of musical theatre. With songs, skits, theatre games, and dance set in an energetic environment, this class is just plain FUN! Wednesdays 5:00pm-5:45pm. Instructor: Emily Palma

                      IMPORTANT: if you are applying for financial aid please email us directly before registering online at monriverarts@gmail.com

                      ~Class size is limited. Payment is required to hold your spot. 
                      ~Classes take place at Mon River Arts rehearsal studio. 
                      ~No tuition refunds after the first class. Virtual class will replace in-person class if needed. 
                      ~We reserve the right to cancel any class due to lack of enrollment or add a class due to a large demand. 
                      ~Participants need to wear comfortable clothes, jazz shoes or tennis shoes, and hair must be pulled back. 
                      ~No cell phones permitted during class.  

                      ~Parents will recieve a copy of our Code of Conduct that they must sign prior to the start of class. If any students are found in violation of the Code of Conduct, Mon River Arts reserves the right to remove the student from classes with no refund.

                      ~Students should bring a bottle of water to every class. If registered for a class package, students should also bring a small snack.
                      ~Please contact Mon River Arts 412-405-8425 if your child will be absent from class.                   

                      ~In case of cancellation due to inclement weather, notice will be given on our Facebook page, on our answering machine, and on TV Channels 2, 4, and 11.

                      ~Deadline to apply for financial aid is two weeks prior to the start of classes.

                      We will have a break from March 1-March 7. No classes during that time.
