• My  Promise:
Most courses fail not because of poor content, but because they’re built from the expert’s perspective, not the learner’s. Use this quick diagnostic tool to shift your view, find the blind spots, and turn your course into a true learning journey.

    Instructions
This tool helps you spot where your course is losing impact. For each section, you’ll learn what matters most, answer a few quick questions, and see instantly whether you have each element in place. Each “No” or “Not sure” highlights a gap — and your path to bigger transformation.

    How It Works
The worksheet walks you through the 6 pillars of the IMPACT Framework:
     I – Intentions | M – Map | P – Practice | A – Application | C – Content | T – Transformation

    Each section includes:

    • A short explanation of the concept
    • Simple diagnostic questions to rate your IMPACT
    • Space to write out your answers or examples
    • A quick reflection to capture your biggest insight

You’ll end with a Course Impact Snapshot — a visual overview of your strengths, gaps, and next best steps.

    How to Complete It

    • Set aside 30–45 minutes. You’ll get the best results when you work through it in one sitting.
    • Be honest. This isn’t about perfection — it’s about awareness.
    • Print or fill it digitally. Use the checkboxes and text fields to make notes as you go.
    • Look for patterns. Notice where you marked ⚠️ or ❌ across multiple sections — that’s where your biggest opportunities for impact lie.

    When You’re Done
Review your Course Impact Snapshot. Count your ✅, ⚠️, and ❌ to see where your course is strong — and where transformation breaks down.
Apply the Quick Fixes. Each section includes one small, actionable step you can take right away to strengthen your course.
Reflect. Write down your biggest “aha” and one change you’ll make immediately.

The goal isn’t to rebuild your course — it’s to realign it with your learner’s journey. Small changes here lead to big transformations later.

    A 6-Step Framework to Uncover
Why Your Course Isn’t Creating the Transformation

  • Intentions

    What this means:
Every powerful course starts with a clear, learner-centered intention. It’s not about what you’ll teach. It’s about what they’ll be able to do. If you can’t express that in one simple sentence, your course may not yet have a true goal.

Einstein said, “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”

In learning design, if you can’t state your course goal simply — your students can’t follow it clearly.

  • Your Quick Diagnosis

For each question, rate yourself between 0(lowest) and 5(highest) stars.
  • Reflect & Write it Down

    (optional)
  • Map

    What this means:
Your course should feel like a guided path — not a pile of modules. Each step should connect naturally to the next so learners can accumulate knowledge and skill in a logical order. Think of it like building a bridge: if one section is missing or out of order, your learners fall through.

Learners should start from their struggle (problem) and end at their solution (result) — with each step leading them forward.

For each question, rate yourself between 0(lowest) and 5(highest) stars.
  • Reflect & Write it Down

    (optional)
  • PRACTICE

    What this means:
Learning only sticks when learners do something with it. Practice means you’ve built moments for learners to actively engage — to try, create, discuss, or apply inside the lesson itself. This isn’t about grading or assessment yet — it’s about doing, not just listening.

For each question, rate yourself between 0(lowest) and 5(highest) stars.
  • Reflect & Write it Down

    (optional)
  • APPLICATION

    What this means:
Learning sticks when it’s measured and reflected on. Application is about proof — showing that students can transfer what they learned into real results. If you never check for understanding, you can’t be sure they’re ready for the next step.

  • CONTENT

    What this means:
More content doesn’t mean more value. You don’t need to teach everything you know — just enough for your learners to do what you promised. They don’t come with a fire hose; they come with a teacup. Simplify and focus your lessons so they can take one sip, understand it, and act.

  • TRANSFORMATION

    What this means:
The true measure of your course isn’t completion — it’s continuation. Transformation happens after the final lesson, when learners start using what they learned in real life. If there’s no structure to help them carry it forward, even the best course becomes another forgotten file in their downloads folder. Your role is to make it easy for them to apply, reflect, and keep growing — long after they’ve finished your program.

  • Course Impact Snapshot & Reflection

    Your Course Impact Snapshot
    1. Do you ask learners to set 1–3 goals at the start of the course?
Creates accountability and focus from day one.
    2. Do you revisit those goals at the end of the course?
Reinforces learning and gives both you and your clients a clear sense of achievement.
    3. Do you gather learner feedback at the end of the course?
Reinforces learning and gives both you and your clients a clear sense of achievement.
    4. Do you have a pre-course “starting point” or self-assessment?
Makes progress visible and shows transformation more clearly.
    5. Do you have a post-course reflection form or testimonial process?
Captures proof of transformation and builds your credibility.

Little things build big trust. These micro-practices turn information into transformation — and learners into success stories.

  • Review your rating for each foundational category to identify areas for improvement. Use the quick fixes below as small, immediate ways to strengthen your course — one improvement at a time.

    Impact Rating {overall Rating}

Focus Area Your Score Quick Fix Idea
Intentions {impactIntentions} Rewrite your course goal in one learner-focused sentence: “By the end of this course, my learner will be able to…”
Map {impactMap} Check that every module builds logically — from problem → process → result. Remove any “side trips.”
Practice {impactPractice} Add one “do-it-now” activity per module so learners try before moving on.
Application {impactApplication} Include a small checkpoint or milestone so learners can see progress (quiz, tracker, reflection).
Content {typeA42} Cut 10–20% of content that doesn’t directly help learners reach the promised result. Less = clearer.
Transformation {impactTransformation} Add one follow-up touchpoint (reflection, email, or check-in) to help learners apply what they learned after the course.
