Denver East High School
Acknowledgement of Behavior Expectations for Overnight Trips
All students traveling with and for East High School are expected to comply with the following behavior expectations. Failure to adhere to these expectations may result in the student being sent home at the parents’ expense and/or prohibited from traveling on any other overnight trip sponsored by East High School for a duration determined by the school. Additional disciplinary action may be taken by the school.
Expectations
All school and district rules and policies remain in effect during the entirety of the trip. The trip sponsor (teacher or coach) will have, in their possession, a copy of each hotel room key and may enter the hotel room if deemed necessary for the safety and security of students. Guests are not allowed in student hotel rooms.
In addition, students are expected to:
- Remain under the supervision of trip sponsor or chaperone(s) at all times. Students may not leave a location unattended by a sponsor/chaperone and may not use different transportation than the group to/from any location.
- Follow instructions given by trip sponsor and chaperones.
- Adhere to the travel itinerary and be on time for activities, events, and departures.
- Respond promptly to phone calls or texts from trip sponsors and chaperones.
- Be in their hotel room by 10pm each night (“lights out”), unless otherwise indicated in the travel itinerary.
- Remain in hotel room from “lights out” until breakfast, departure time, or other time indicated in the travel itinerary.
- Respect hotel quiet hours from 10pm-8am or as otherwise defined by the trip sponsor and/or hotel management.
- Refrain from making any charges to hotel room.
- Obtain permission from trip sponsor before ordering any food deliveries to the hotel room.
By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to follow the behavior expectations for overnight trips.
