The Alpha Alpha Lambda Omega (AALO) Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Scholarship Program was established to ensure professional and personal development for continuous growth, advancement, and success through education, community involvement and mentoring.

The scholarship program provides scholarships annually to deserving adults who will be attending a professional development event, workshop, training or an establishment of higher learning.

Each year, the AALO Scholarship Program Committee determines the number of scholarships and award amounts based on available funding. This year, two (2) $1000 scholarships will be awarded to Adult Learners pursuing career advancement or enrichment opportunities.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be a resident of Prince George's County.

Adult Learner applicants must be pusuing an experience that supports their personal or professional growth. This includes but is not limited to educational courses, professional workshops, or programs designed to enhance the applicant's skills, knowledge and overall professional or personal development.

AWARD CRITERIA

Recipients of the scholarships are chosen through a process that evaluates the following areas:
- Written Essay
- Community/School Involement
- Recommendation Letter

How are scholarship recipients selected?

The AALO Scholarship Committee selects the scholarship winners based on the criteria above and all decisions are final.

How are scholarship recipients notified?
The AALO Scholarship Committee will notify all scholarship recipients via email or phone in May 2026. The names and photos will also be posted on AALO's social media platforms and chapter website.
