  • Financial Assistance Program Application

  • Park Ridge Park District believes everyone should have the opportunity to participate in recreation programs and therefore administers a Financial Assistance Program. This program provides financial assistance to residents who are interested in enrolling in an eligible Park District program, but unable to do so due to financial hardships. Based on availability of funds, the Park District will attempt to provide financial assistance to those who qualify based on the eligibility requirements. Financial assistance will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis based on need as well as availability of funds.
  • Availability

    • Financial Assistance is available for all ages.
    • Financial Assistance is limited to one opportunity per person per season.
    • Applications are required seasonally.
  • Eligibility Requirements

    • Program participants must be Park Ridge Park District residents.
    • Non-resident participants attending Beyond the Bell are eligible for Beyond the Bell financial assistance only.
    • Meet financial criteria as listed by the Illinois Income Eligibility Guidelines, unless unique circumstance is presented.

  • How to Apply

    • Completion of the Financial Assistance Application form is required.
    • Include the following documentation with your application:
      • Proof of financial need, either a tax return from the year prior or documentation from one of the following organizations must be submitted with your application: an educational institution (i.e. school social worker, principal), a crisis support organization (i.e. Catholic Charities, Josselyn Center), or public aid organizations (i.e. Social Security, disability, nutrition assistance)
  • Guidelines

    • For most programs and services, applicants are required to pay 50% of registration fees.
      • Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
    • Payment plans are available for the participant portion of fees owed.

  • Tier Max per person / per season
    Tier 1 - Programs / Memberships Max $100
    Tier 2 - Childcare Max $500
  • Eligible Programs and Services

    • Memberships: Pool Pass, Centennial Fitness Center, STAR Membership, Ice Skating Pass
    • Daily fees: Open Gym, Public Skate, Skate Rental
    • Programs: Recreation Programs including Athletic Leagues
    • Childcare: Summer Camps, Preschool, Beyond the Bell, Nature Preschool, School Days Off
  • Applications

    • Will be processed within 10 business days following submission of application and documentation.
    • Information will be confidential.
    • Applicants receive a decision by phone or email with registration instructions.
