Alpha Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Scholarship Award
Purpose: The Alpha Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., through its youth initiative, the Youth Life Skills Institute, Incorporated, is dedicated to fostering academic excellence and leadership among minority male students. This scholarship aims to support deserving graduating seniors as they embark on their journey to higher education, empowering them to achieve their full potential and become future leaders in their communities.
Scholarship Award: This year, our Fraternity will award scholarships valued at $1,000 to deserving minority males in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System who are committed to pursuing a four-year degree at an accredited college or university.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be a graduating minority male senior.
- Applicants must enroll in a four-year college or university immediately upon graduating from high school.
- Applicants must have a minimum 2.7 GPA (weighted).

Important Dates:
- Your completed application must be received by March 16, 2026.
- All applications received by the deadline will be reviewed to ensure that all required information has been submitted
- All applicants with complete application packets will be contacted via E-mail or phone during the week of March 23rd, to notify them that their application has been received
- This year, we will interview candidates May 2nd & 3rd, The time and location will be announced later
- The awards will be made on May 5th.
- There will be an awards ceremony, tentatively scheduled for June 3rd.
Complete Scholarship Applications Must Include:
- Two letters of recommendation – one of which must come from a representative of your high school (Principal, Assistant Principal, Teacher, or Counselor).
- A copy of your official high school transcript.
- A copy of your official SAT and/or ACT scores.
- A one-page, double-spaced-typed essay in 12-point font with one-inch margins. The topic is listed below on the application form.
