Artist Agreement, Care, Liability & Media Release

As part of Handwork: Celebrating American Craft 2026, the Potomac Fiber Arts Guild (PFAG) is presenting the Fiber Arts Journey Exhibit at the Workhouse Arts Center. This exhibition is a celebration of our members’ creative journeys and is organized and staffed entirely by guild volunteers.

By submitting artwork to this exhibition, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

    1. Artist Representation & Ownership
I confirm that I am the creator of the submitted work, or that I have full authority to submit the work for exhibition.
I understand that this agreement does not transfer ownership of my artwork. All rights not expressly granted remain with me.

    2. Media & Promotional Release
I grant permission to the Potomac Fiber Arts Guild and the Fiber Arts Journey Exhibit to use my name, artist bio, submitted images of my work, and my likeness for the purpose of promoting this exhibition and related guild activities.
I understand that photographs and video may be taken of my artwork and of the exhibition, and that these images or recordings may be used in promotional materials, including but not limited to websites, social media, newsletters, press releases, and archival documentation.
I understand that no compensation will be provided for the use of these images or recordings.
This permission is granted without time limit and may be used in both digital and printed formats.

    3. Exhibition Venue & Rules

By participating in this exhibition, you agree to follow the rules and policies of the Workhouse Arts Center (WAC), our host venue. This includes expectations related to safety, accessibility, materials, display methods, artwork handling, installation, deinstallation, and public access during gallery hours.

You may be required to sign a separate agreement directly with WAC. A copy of the standard WAC agreement can be found here: https://form.jotform.com/WorkhouseMarketing/ArtistAgreement.

Potomac Fiber Arts Guild volunteers will communicate relevant WAC rules and expectations to all participating artists and will notify you of any updates or changes received from WAC.

    4. Care of Artwork & Volunteer-Run Exhibition
I acknowledge that this exhibition is organized and operated by volunteers and guild members who are not professional gallery staff.
Potomac Fiber Arts Guild, its volunteers, and exhibition organizers will make every reasonable effort to handle, display, promote, and care for submitted artwork with diligence, respect, and good faith.
I understand that despite best efforts, mistakes, unforeseen circumstances, or schedule or display changes may occur. The exhibition team commits to communicating any significant issues or changes as promptly and transparently as possible.

    5. Liability & Insurance
Participation in this exhibition is at my own risk.
I release and hold harmless the Potomac Fiber Arts Guild, the Fiber Arts Journey Exhibit, the Workhouse Arts Center, exhibition organizers, volunteers, and affiliated partners from liability for loss, damage, or theft of artwork, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
I understand that I am responsible for insuring my artwork if I choose to do so.
