Dear Client,
Thank you for choosing Dream HR Consultants to assist with the preparation of your tax returns. This letter confirms the terms of our engagement and outlines the nature and extent of the services we will provide.
We will prepare your tax returns(s) based solely on the information you furnish to us. Upon completion, any original documents will be returned to you. While our office may retain scanned copies for internal records, you should keep all documents that support income, deductions, credits, and other items reported on your return (including receipts, logs, bank/credit card statements, etc.). These records may be required if your return is selected for examination. We recommend retaining such documents for at least five years after filing.
Our work in connection with preparing your return cannot be relied upon to disclose errors, irregularities, or illegal acts, including fraud. We will use our professional judgment in areas where tax law is unclear or conflicting. Unless instructed otherwise, we will take a resonable tax position in your favor; however, we cannot guarantee that taxing authorites will not challenge those positions or the outcome of any such challenge. We are not responsible for issues arising from incomplete, inaccurate, or omitted information that was not provided at the time of preparation or prior to filing.
1. Scope of Engagement
We will prepare your requested federal and state income tax returns. Our work is based on the information you provide, and it is your responsibility to ensure that this information is complete and accurate.
We may request clarification of certain items but will not audit, verify, or independently investigate the data you submit.
Please note that the law imposes penalties on taxpayers who underestimate their tax liability.
Our engagement should not be relied upon to disclose errors, fraud, or other illegal acts. However, we will inform you of any material issues we discover during preparation.
2. Client Responsibilities
You must provide all necessary information and maintain supporting documentation to substantiate your tax return.
Knowingly providing false or incomplete information may subject you to penalties, restitution, or imprisonment under federal law.
You agree to hold Dream HR Consultants and your assigned preparer harmless from any errors resulting from incomplete, false, or inaccurate information provided by you.
3. Fees and Payment
Tax preparation fees are due at the time of service and are non-refundable.
If you and/or your spouse owe any federal/government debt (e.g., IRS, child support, student loans), you remain responsible for payment of tax preparation fees regardless of any offset to your refund.
If your refund is delayed or mailed directly by the IRS, you are still responsible for full payment of preparation fees as stated on your invoice.
Failure to pay may result in legal action to recover unpaid fees. You also agree not to dispute fees for services rendered due to IRS processing delays.
By signing your tax documents, you acknowledge and agree to the fees associated with the selected services and bank products.
4. Record Retention
We will return your original records at the conclusion of this engagement. You are responsible for keeping these records, along with all supporting documents, for your files.
We will retain copies of your records and work papers for three (3) years, after which they will be destroyed. Paper copies of tax returns or additional documents may be requested for a separate fee.
5. Filing Responsibilities
Our engagement concludes with the delivery of your completed returns (if paper filing) or with your signature and our e-filing of your returns.
If you do not elect to e-file with our office, you remain solely responsible for filing your tax returns with the IRS or state agencies.
You must carefully review all tax-return documents before signing.
By signing this agreement, you authorize Dream HR Consultants to:
File your federal and state income tax returns, and
Apply your signature to IRS Forms 1040, 8879, 7216, and any other applicable forms included in your finalized return.
6. Refund Transfer / Bank Product
At, if you choose to utilize a Refund Transfer or other bank product, your tax return information will be transmitted to the partnered refund advance bank for processing. Please understand that additional fees may apply in connection with the use of bank products and electronic filing services.
These fees are separate from your tax preparation fee and may include bank fees, processing fees, transmission fees, and other applicable service charges. All fees associated with your return will be fully disclosed and outlined on your tax documents and Form 1040 review prior to you signing and authorizing the submission of your return.
7. Privacy Policy
At Dream HR Consultants, we take your privacy and personal information seriously. All client information and PPI (Personally Identifiable Information) is kept secure within our protected CRM system. Documents and files provided to us are securely stored through a protected Dropbox system and maintained in accordance with our record retention policy. All records are securely retained for three years and properly destroyed after the three-year retention period.
8. Client Communication Policy
At, we communicate with clients through our secure CRM system, business email at support@dreamhrconsultants.com, and by phone when necessary. We may also schedule Zoom meetings to discuss matters pertaining to your tax return, documentation, or other services to better assist you throughout the process. Please ensure your contact information is accurate so we can maintain proper communication regarding your account and services.
9. Acknowledgment
I acknowledge that I have read and understand the terms of this engagement letter. I agree to comply with these terms and authorize Dream HR Consultants to prepare and file my tax return(s).
File Abandonment: If you choose not to move foward with filing after tax preparation has begun, a $150 file abandonment fee will be due immediately. If this fee is not paid within 24 hours, the full tax prepartion fee becomes due. Any unpaid balance after 7 days will be forwarded to collection agency and may be subject to credit reporting.
PLEASE NOTE: If you change your mind and choose not to allow us to file your completed return, the applicalbe abandonment or preparation fees described above will apply. If our firm must pursue legal or collection action to recover unpaid fees, you may be required to reimburse all costs associated with collecting the outstanding balance.
Agreement & Authorization
To affirm that this letter correctly summarizes your understanding of the arrangements for this work, you agree to allow Dream HR Consultants to prepare and file your tax return. You also acknowledge that this engagement is not for the purpose of providing a quote, but for the preparation and filing of your return.
By signing below, you authorize Dream HR Consultants to apply your signature from this document to the finalized tax return and all applicable IRS forms (including but not limited to Forms 1040, 8879, and 7216).
ACH Authorization Agreement
By signing this agreement, you authorize and its partnered financial institutions and service providers to initiate electronic debit and/or credit entries to the bank account provided for the purpose of processing tax preparation fees, refund transfers, refund advances, direct deposit refunds, or other authorized services related to your tax return.
You certify that the banking information provided is accurate and belongs to you or an account you are authorized to use. You understand that incorrect banking information may result in delays, rejected transactions, additional fees, or returned deposits.
You acknowledge and agree that authorized fees associated with your tax preparation services, bank products, transmission fees, and other disclosed service charges may be deducted from your refund proceeds when applicable.
This authorization will remain in effect until all authorized transactions related to your tax return and services have been completed. You understand that you may revoke this authorization in writing prior to processing; however, revocation may affect the ability to process certain bank products or direct deposit services.
By signing below, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and agreed to the ACH Authorization Agreement and authorize electronic transactions as stated above.
