Dear Client,
Thank you for choosing Dream HR Consultants to assist with the preparation of your tax returns. This letter confirms the terms of our engagement and outlines the nature and extent of the services we will provide.
We will prepare your tax returns(s) based solely on the information you furnish to us. Upon completion, any original documents will be returned to you. While our office may retain scanned copies for internal records, you should keep all documents that support income, deductions, credits, and other items reported on your return (including receipts, logs, bank/credit card statements, etc.). These records may be required if your return is selected for examination. We recommend retaining such documents for at least five years after filing.
Our work in connection with preparing your return cannot be relied upon to disclose errors, irregularities, or illegal acts, including fraud. We will use our professional judgment in areas where tax law is unclear or conflicting. Unless instructed otherwise, we will take a resonable tax position in your favor; however, we cannot guarantee that taxing authorites will not challenge those positions or the outcome of any such challenge. We are not responsible for issues arising from incomplete, inaccurate, or omitted information that was not provided at the time of preparation or prior to filing.
1. Scope of Engagement
Dream HR Consultants, LLC agrees to prepare your requested federal and applicable state income tax return(s) based solely on the information and documentation you provide.
You are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted is complete, accurate, and truthful. We may request clarification of certain items; however, we will not audit, verify, or independently investigate the information you provide.
Federal and state tax laws impose penalties and interest for underpayment of taxes or for providing inaccurate information. Our services should not be relied upon to detect fraud, theft, or other illegal acts. If we become aware of any material issues during preparation, we will notify you.
2. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
Provide complete and accurate information.
Submit all required tax documents before filing.
Maintain documentation to support the items reported on your return.
Review your completed return prior to signing.
Knowingly providing false, misleading, or incomplete information may result in IRS penalties, interest, civil liability, criminal prosecution, restitution, fines, or imprisonment.
You agree to hold harmless and indemnify Dream HR Consultants, LLC, its employees, contractors, and assigned tax preparers from any liability resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or false information provided by you.
3. Fees and Payment
Tax preparation fees are earned upon completion of your tax return and are non-refundable.
Payment is due at the time your return is transmitted to the IRS unless you have selected an approved bank product.
If you or your spouse owe federal or state debts, including but not limited to IRS liabilities, child support, student loans, or other government obligations that reduce or offset your refund, you remain fully responsible for all tax preparation fees.
IRS processing delays, refund delays, refund freezes, refund offsets, or refunds mailed directly by the IRS do not eliminate your responsibility for payment.
Failure to pay may result in collection activity, legal action, reimbursement of collection costs, attorney's fees where permitted by law, and applicable interest.
By signing your tax documents, you acknowledge and agree to all disclosed preparation fees, bank product fees, transmission fees, and related service charges.
4. Record Retention
Original records will be returned to you upon completion of services.
Dream HR Consultants, LLC will retain copies of tax returns and work papers for three (3) years, after which they will be securely destroyed.
Additional copies requested after filing may be subject to a document retrieval fee.
5. Filing Responsibilities
Our engagement concludes upon delivery of your completed return (paper filing) or after you have signed all required documents and we have electronically filed your return.
If you choose not to electronically file through our office, you assume full responsibility for filing your return with the IRS and applicable state agencies.
By signing this agreement, you authorize Dream HR Consultants, LLC to:
Prepare and electronically file your federal and state income tax returns.
Apply your electronic signature to IRS Forms 1040, 8879, 7216, and other applicable documents after you have reviewed and approved your completed return.
6. Refund Transfer & Bank Products
If you elect to use a Refund Transfer, Refund Advance, or other bank product, your tax information will be transmitted to our partnered financial institution for processing.
Additional fees may apply, including:
Bank Fees
Processing Fees
Transmission Fees
Refund Transfer Fees
Technology Fees
Service Bureau Fees
All applicable fees will be fully disclosed before you authorize the submission of your return.
Approval of any refund advance or bank product is determined solely by the participating financial institution and is not guaranteed by Dream HR Consultants, LLC.
7. Privacy Policy
Dream HR Consultants, LLC takes the privacy and security of your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) seriously.
Client information is maintained within secure business systems, encrypted CRM software, and protected cloud storage.
Documents are securely retained for three (3) years and destroyed in accordance with our record retention policy.
8. Client Communication Policy
Dream HR Consultants, LLC communicates through:
Business Email
Telephone
Secure Client Portal
Zoom Meetings (when necessary)
We do not conduct business communications through Facebook Messenger or other social media messaging platforms.
Please keep your contact information current so we can communicate regarding your tax return and related services.
9. Acknowledgment
I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to the terms contained in this Engagement Letter.
I authorize Dream HR Consultants, LLC to prepare and file my tax return(s).
10. Required Documentation Policy
Federal law requires tax preparers to obtain sufficient documentation before preparing and filing tax returns.
Failure to provide requested documentation may delay preparation or prevent filing.
Dream HR Consultants, LLC retains client records for three (3) years.
11. Turnaround Policy
Our standard turnaround time is up to three (3) business days after all required documentation, completed intake forms, and signatures have been received.
Additional processing time may be required during peak tax season or if additional information is requested.
12. Appointment & Consultation Policy
Appointments and consultations may be scheduled using the appointment link located on our website or official Facebook business page.
Walk-in availability is not guaranteed.
13. Payment Policy
Payment is due when your completed tax return has been prepared and is ready for transmission to the IRS.
Returns will not be electronically filed until all required fees have been satisfied or an approved bank product has been authorized.
14. Refund Transfer, Bank Product & Offset Policy
Returns are transmitted only after all required documents, client intake forms, signatures, and required due diligence documentation have been received.
If you elect to use a bank product, the participating bank will deduct applicable processing fees from your refund proceeds.
Tax preparation fees remain due even if your refund is reduced or offset.
With your authorization, Dream HR Consultants, LLC may contact the Treasury Offset Program to determine whether an offset exists before filing your return.
15. Offset Hotline Authorization
By signing this agreement, you authorize Dream HR Consultants, LLC to contact the Treasury Offset Program or other applicable agencies on your behalf to verify potential refund offsets for the purpose of protecting tax preparation fees and advising you of potential refund reductions.
16. Amendment Policy
If an amended tax return becomes necessary, amendment services are not included in your original tax preparation fee.
Amended returns are subject to a separate preparation fee beginning at $125.00, with additional fees depending on the complexity of the amendment.
17. IRS Notices & Audit Assistance
If you receive an IRS or state notice regarding a return prepared by Dream HR Consultants, LLC, we will assist you in reviewing the notice.
Any assistance provided is based solely on the documentation and information you originally supplied.
Audit representation, appeals, litigation, or representation before the IRS is not included unless agreed to separately in writing and may require additional fees.
18. No Guarantee Policy
Dream HR Consultants, LLC is retained to prepare an accurate and complete tax return based upon the information provided.
We do not guarantee:
A tax refund
The amount of any refund
Approval of any tax credits
Approval of refund advances
IRS processing times
Any specific tax outcome
Every taxpayer's situation is different, and final determinations are made by the IRS and applicable state taxing authorities.
19. File Abandonment Policy
If you decide not to proceed after tax preparation has begun:
A $150.00 File Abandonment Fee becomes immediately due.
If unpaid within 24 hours, the full preparation fee becomes due.
Any unpaid balance after seven (7) days may be referred to a collection agency and may be reported to consumer reporting agencies where permitted by law.
Agreement & Authorization
By signing below, you confirm that this Engagement Letter accurately reflects your understanding of the services to be provided.
You authorize Dream HR Consultants, LLC to prepare and electronically file your tax return and to apply your electronic signature to all applicable IRS forms, including but not limited to Forms 1040, 8879, and 7216 after your review and approval.
ACH Authorization Agreement
By signing below, you authorize Dream HR Consultants, LLC and its partnered financial institutions to initiate electronic debit and/or credit transactions related to tax preparation fees, refund transfers, refund advances, direct deposit refunds, and other authorized tax-related services.
You certify that the banking information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to use the account.
Incorrect banking information may result in rejected transactions, delayed refunds, returned deposits, or additional fees.
This authorization remains effective until all authorized transactions have been completed unless revoked in writing prior to processing.
