2026 Forrest Bassford Student Award & Student Travel Awards

The top winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship and a $500 travel scholarship to attend LPC’s annual convention and Agricultural Media Summit in St. Louis, Missouri, July 18-21, 2026. Up to three $750 travel scholarships to attend the convention will be given in addition to the top award. Students participating in the convention will have the opportunity to interact with more than 500 livestock publication and agricultural communication professionals while attending workshops and seminars specifically related to this field. Winners will also have the opportunity to attend The Alltech ONE Conference with complimentary registration provided by Alltech.

Winners of travel scholarships MUST attend the Agricultural Media Summit (AMS) in St. Louis, Missouri to receive their scholarship. The travel award winners MUST submit an online portfolio by June 15, to be reviewed prior to AMS. Winners of travel scholarships MUST participate in an in-person interview process at AMS, where the Forrest Bassford Award winner will be determined. All travel award winners must be in St. Louis, Missouri by Saturday, July 18 and stay through the Tuesday, July 21 awards ceremony. Travel award winners will be notified by April 17, 2026.
