    Explanatory Notes:

    In case the financial statements of the company are presented in a currency other than LKR, convert such amounts at the buying rate as at end of the respective financial year.

    Note 1 - Export Revenue – This includes only direct revenue from goods and services exported and supplied and revenues earned in foreign currency and brought into Sri Lanka. Further goods and services consumed abroad for which payments have been made in local currency by a resident individual or resident company should not be included.

    Note 2 – Research and Development Expenditure - The R&D expenditure which is expended and published / indicated in the financial statement should be used for these figures.

    Note 3 – EBIT – Earnings before interest & tax

    Note 4 – NPBT – Net Profit before tax, and before net exchange gain differences. In order to capture the results of operations independent of the exchange differences, application must provide the Net Profit before tax without the impact of net exchange gain/loss.

     

    Note 5 – Revenue – Revenue means the value of goods supplied and services rendered and invoiced by the company during the year. The revenue to be stated in the application is that disclosed in the company’s annual reports / accounts submitted with this application.

  • Evaluation Procedure
    Applications are reviewed and evaluated in a three-stage process as described below

    First Stage - Desk Review
    All the applications will be screened and reviewed, and the process would be two-fold. Initially, there will be an acceptance conformity screening to assess whether all the requirements are fulfilled in the application form and thereafter referred to the Technical Panel for further review. At the conclusion of the first stage of review, the panel will short-list the applicants who would proceed to the second stage.

    Second Stage – Technical Review
    The Technical Committee will review all the accepted applications and will allocate marks as per the criteria under each sector, sub sector criterion. Detailed marks will be provided by the technical panel and after the marks are ranked, will be presented to the Panel of Judges for final review and selection based on the interviews.

    Third Stage - Judges' Final Review
    The Panel of Judges would make the final selection of the award recipients after a careful review of all preliminary evaluation reports and the outcome of the interviews.
