Local Voice – What’s it all about?
Local Voice is your chance to have your say, build confidence, and represent Scouting in your community.
At Local Voice, Scouts and Explorer Scouts from across South London will come together to:
- meet and talk with local councillors
- share what matters to young people in their local area
- learn how decisions are made locally and how young people can influence them
- develop communication and media skills
- become South London Ambassadors and Young Spokespeople
You’ll take part in fun, interactive activities, group discussions, and practical challenges — and you won’t just be sitting listening all day. You’ll also get the chance to show councillors what Scouting is really like by taking part in activities together on site.
Local Voice is about building confidence, speaking up, and making sure young people’s voices are heard — while having fun and learning skills you can use in Scouts, school, and beyond.
No experience needed — just bring your ideas, curiosity, and willingness to get involved!
