    Named in honor of two Blue Eagle Credit Union pioneers, this scholarship provides an opportunity to help ease the financial burden of continuing education.
  • General Information

    Amount:
    Ten $1,000 scholarships awarded for fall 2026 semester tuition.

    Deadline:
    March 15, 2026 (Incomplete applications will not be considered.)

    Notification: 
    Applicants will be notified of award decisions no later than April 15, 2026.

  • Eligibility Rules

    Those seeking continuing higher education for the 2026-2027 academic year and meeting the following eligibility criteria may apply.

    1. Applicant must have a Blue Eagle Credit Union account in good standing where the applicant is a primary owner. Not a member yet? It's easy to open an account. Make an in-person or virtual appointment at BlueEagleCreditUnion.com/open-an-account/ or call 540.342.3429.
    2. Complete and submit this application electronically, by the deadline stated in this application. Incomplete applications, including any required supporting documents, will not be considered.
    3. Blue Eagle Credit Union employees, Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee are not eligible. Additionally, immediate family, persons residing in the same household, or dependents of Blue Eagle Credit Union employees, Board members, and Supervisory Committee members are ineligble.
  • Regulations

    1. Award monies must be used for accredited university, college, or certified technical or vocational school 2026 fall tuition.
    2. If for any reason the recipient discontinues studies, the student must notify Blue Eagle Credit Union within 10 calendar days of withdrawal. At such time, eligibility for receiving the scholarship funds will be determined by the Alexander Scholarship Committee. Additionally, the recipient may be held responsible for refunding any scholarship monies lost due to class withdrawal or an incomplete school year.
    3. The scholarship may be held in abeyance for not more than one year at the discretion of Blue Eagle Credit Union if the recipient experiences extenuating circumstances.
    4. Award money will be deposited with the school of the recipient's enrollment and credited to the student's account to be drawn upon under the school rules established for handling scholarship funds. The scholarship recipient must provide Blue Eagle Credit Union with a copy of the tuition bill no later than September 30, 2026 in order for funds to be disbursed to the school. Failure to send the tutition bill by this date may result in forfeiture of award monies at the discretion of Blue Eagle Credit Union. 
    5. Student may re-apply for the Alexander Scholarship each year the student is eligible, but only one award per applicant per calendar year is permitted.
    6. Recipients are selected on the basis of financial need, communty impact, and essay submission(s). The decision of the judges will be final. Tax-related information is the responsibility of the recipient.
    7. All information submitted becomes the property of Blue Eagle Credit Union and, by submission, applicant agrees the information could be used for analytical, marketing, and/or promotional purposes. Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Blue Eagle Credit Union privacy policy.
