1. Home Visits:
The foster agrees and acknowledges that Paws of Promise Animal Rescue Organization retains the right to perform both scheduled and unscheduled home inspections before, during, or after the foster period, to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the dog. These inspections may include in-person visits, virtual walk throughs, and/or photographic documentation.

2. Appointments and Medical Care:
The foster is required to transport the foster dog to all scheduled veterinary appointments and meet-and-greets as arranged or approved by Paws of Promise Animal Rescue Organization. The foster further agrees to administer any and all prescribed medications as instructed by the attending veterinarian or Paws of Promise Animal Rescue Organization's representatives.

3. Expenses and Liability Coverage:
Paws of Promise Animal Rescue Organization shall provide all necessary veterinary care, approved food, and general supplies such as leashes, crates, and bedding. The foster shall not incur or be expected to cover any expenses related to the dog's care unless explicitly authorized in writing. Unauthorized expenses may not be reimbursed.

4. Care Standards:
The foster agrees to provide the foster dog with daily care, proper shelter, exercise, attention, and love in a safe and secure indoor environment. The foster shall not allow the dog to run off-leash in unsecured areas and agrees to notify Paws of Promise Animal Rescue Organization immediately if the dog becomes ill, is injured, escapes, or is involved in any incidents.

5. Ownership and Custody:
The foster understands that the foster dog is the legal property of Paws of Promise Animal Rescue Organization. Custody of the dog shall be relinquished immediately upon request. The foster shall not rehome, sell, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the dog without prior written consent from Paws of Promise Animal Rescue Organization.

6. Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability:
The foster acknowledges that animals may behave unpredictably. The foster agrees to assume all risks associated with fostering and releases Paws of Promise Animal Rescue Organization, including its directors, officers, volunteers, and affiliates, from any and all claims, damages, or injuries that may arise while the dog is in foster care.

7. No Local Adoptions:
The foster acknowledges that all dogs placed in their care are already committed for transport to out-of-state rescue partners. Therefore, there will be no local adoptions or adoption events. The foster shall not attempt to place the dog in any permanent home or engage in any local adoption activities.

8. No Foster Adoptions:
The foster further agrees that they are not eligible to adopt any of the dogs placed in their care. All foster dogs are designated for transport to predetermined rescue organizations, and under no circumstances shall the foster request or attempt to adopt the dog.

9. Return of Supplies:
All supplies provided by Paws of Promise Animal Rescue Organization, including but not limited to crates, leashes, collars, food, medications, toys, and bedding, must be returned at the time of the foster dog's drop-off or return. These items remain the property of the organization and are to be used solely for the care of the foster dog during the fostering period.

10. Foster Safety Policies
No Public Outings for Unvaccinated Puppies:
Puppies that are not fully vaccinated (including DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies) are not allowed in public places under any circumstances. This includes but is not limited to:
- Parks
- Outdoor events
- Pet stores
- Sidewalk walks
- Grass or areas frequented by other animals
Exposure to these areas before vaccinations are complete puts puppies at extreme risk of deadly diseases such as parvo and distemper.

Leash Policy:
All dogs and puppies must be on leash at all times when outdoors, unless they are in a securely fenced-in private yard. Off-leash walking is not allowed, even if the dog appears well-behaved or the area seems safe. Any incident resulting from off-leash activity (injury, escape, bite, etc.) will be the sole responsibility of the foster.

Transportation & Travel:
Animals must not be transported to public events, dog parks, or crowded environments unless cleared by Paws of Promise Animal Rescue in writing.

Failure to follow these safety protocols may result in immediate removal of the animal from your care and termination of your role as a foster with our organization.

11. Relinquishment Notice and Transition Period:
If the foster family wishes to relinquish the foster dog, the foster agrees to provide Paws of Promise Animal Rescue Organization with no less than seventy-two (72) hours' notice to allow the organization time to arrange alternate placement and logistics. During this 72-hour transition period, the foster agrees to continue providing safe care, food, shelter, and access to any prescribed medication. In urgent situations involving safety, medical emergencies, or risk of harm, the foster must contact the organization immediately; Paws of Promise will make good-faith efforts to expedite removal sooner when feasible. The foster further agrees to coordinate reasonable pick-up times and to return all supplies at the time of transfer.

12. Communications with Other Rescues:
The foster agrees not to contact, solicit, or communicate with any third-party rescue, shelter, adopter, or placement group regarding any dog that is currently in the care, custody, or control of Paws of Promise Animal Rescue Organization, or any dog that Paws of Promise has transferred to another rescue partners. All questions, updates, placement inquiries, behavioral or medical concerns, networking, and offers of assistance must be directed only to Paws of Promise. The foster will not advertise, network, or discuss such dogs with outside rescues or on social platforms without prior written authorization from Paws of Promise. A breach of this policy may result in immediate removal of the animal(s) and termination of foster eligibility.
