Union Park Little League Volunteer Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct applies to all volunteers of Union Park Little League, including managers, coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, board members, and any individual who has regular contact with players.

Participation as a volunteer is a privilege, not a right. All volunteers are expected to uphold the standards of behavior, safety, and sportsmanship established by Little League International and Union Park Little League.

Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from the league.

I will place the emotional, physical, and mental well being of players ahead of any personal desire to win.

I will provide a safe, supportive, and positive environment for all players.

I will not engage in any form of abuse, neglect, or misconduct toward any child.

I will:

• Treat players, parents, umpires, league officials, and opposing teams with respect.
• Use positive language and encouragement.
• Act as a role model at all times.

I will not:

• Use profanity, abusive language, or inappropriate gestures.
  Physically intimidate, threaten, or strike any individual.
• Engage in verbal or emotional abuse, including yelling at, shaming, or humiliating a player.
• Consume or be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco products during league activities.

I understand that one on one interactions with players must be conducted in an open and observable manner.

I will:

• Avoid situations where I am alone with a player out of public view.
• Maintain appropriate physical boundaries at all times.
• Use physical contact only when appropriate, non intrusive, and for instructional or safety purposes.

I agree to comply with:

• Little League rules and regulations
• Union Park Little League bylaws, policies, and procedures
• All safety, reporting, and disciplinary requirements

I understand that failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from the league.

I acknowledge that I am required to:

• Complete an annual Little League Volunteer Application
• Pass all required background checks, including JDP screening and Florida fingerprint based screening
• Complete Little League Abuse Awareness Training annually
• Complete Diamond Leader Training as required by Union Park Little League

I understand that failure to complete these requirements will result in loss of volunteer eligibility.

I understand that I am required to immediately report any suspected child abuse, neglect, or misconduct in accordance with Florida law and Little League policy.

I understand that failure to report suspected abuse may result in criminal penalties and league discipline.

I will notify the appropriate authorities and the Union Park Little League Safety Officer as required.

I will not engage in discrimination or harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

I will promote inclusion, fairness, and respect for all participants.

I understand that the Union Park Little League Board of Directors has the authority to:

• Investigate violations of this Code of Conduct
• Impose disciplinary measures
• Suspend or remove volunteers when necessary to protect players and the league

I understand that disciplinary decisions of the Board are final, subject to applicable Little League rules.
