  • When acquiring a horse, the new owner or operator must, in addition to submitting the completed form, send the passport to WSI within 30 days of acquiring the animal.

    It is your legal obligation to keep a copy of this declaration, which will be automatically emailed to you. WSI is required by Irish law to submit the information provided in this form to the DAFM Central Equine Database.

    • The Keeper has the  Premises on which the horse is kept, and has a valid EPRN or EEN.

    • An Operator is a person who has responsibility for the horse and all decision-making related to it.

    • What do you get for your fee?

      You will receive the following services:

      • The passport will be inspected to ensure it's a valid document.
      • The details of the new owner and keeper will be entered in to the DAFM Central Database and WSI's secure database.
      • A new ownership label will be inserted, signed, and stamped in the passport.
      • A new Zootechnical Certificate will be issued and attached to the passport with the name of the new owner.
      • Your horse's human food chain status as recorded in the passport and databases will be verified and reconciled, if needed.

    • By submitting this Transfer of Ownership application, I agree to be bound by the Rules and Procedures of the Warmblood Studbook of Ireland.  

      I understand that ownership is given for WSI administrative purposes and Ireland’s Central Equine Database only, and does not infer or confer legal title. 

      I understand that to comply with the law WSI must obtain, record, and store information about my name, postal address, email address, telephone number, and Equine Registered Premises Number. I understand that WSI must share this information with the Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine. This information must be held by WSI for a period of at least 35 years or at least 2 years from the date of communication of the equine’s death. Information about my horse will be held in perpetuity.

      For the sole purpose of payment, I consent to WSI obtaining my credit/debit card details for one-time processing of the fee. I understand that the credit/debit card details will not be recorded or stored by WSI.

      I understand that I have the right to access my information held by WSI, to have any inaccuracies corrected, and to have my information deleted if WSI is not required by the law to retain the information.I understand that I can withdraw this consent at any time by emailing the Studbook Administrator at admin@irish-warmblood.com and communicating my withdrawal of consent for WSI to hold any information except information that is required by law to be retained for the period mentioned above.
