  • Thank you for participating in the nomination process for the Dr. Aliya Covington Educator Impact Award, administered by The Covington Family Foundation (TCFF). This award recognizes an education major who exemplifies academic excellence, leadership, service, and meaningful impact within educational settings and the field of education.

  • Eligibility 

    Nominees should meet the following criteria:

    • Be an undergraduate or a graduate student enrolled as an education major (e.g., early childhood, elementary, secondary, special education, educational leadership, or a closely related education-focused program)
    • Be in good academic standing. Official transcripts may be requested upon selection.
    • Demonstrate leadership, service, and integrity within their program, institution, or community
    • Demonstrate commitment to education as a profession and to serving others
    • Be a student with demonstrated financial need, as determined during the post-selection confirmation process
    • Be a resident of DE, MD, NJ, or PA

    This award is nomination-based only. Students may not self-apply.

    The Dr. Aliya Covington Educator Impact Award is a one-time award of $500 intended to support the recipient’s educational or professional development. Award funds will be issued directly to the recipient’s educational institution or program to assist with tuition or books. 

    Selection Process

    Nominations for the Dr. Aliya Covington Educator Impact Award must be submitted by March 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST. Nominations will be reviewed by the Selection Committee, and additional information or confirmation may be requested from the nominee. Only complete and verified nominations will be considered. Selected recipients will be notified by early April 2026.

    The Dr. Aliya Covington Educator Impact Award is a one-time award of $500 honoring an educator who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and impact in the lives of students and their school community. Award funds will be issued directly to the recipient’s educational institution or program.
