    Application Requirements
    • Must be a 2026 Glades Central Graduate.
    • Must be planning to attend a University or State College in the state of Florida.
      • Must attend during the 2026 - 2027 academic year.
    • Must have a 2.80+ cumulative unweighted GPA.
    • Must have 2 letters of recommendation if GPA is lower than 3.0, touching on the leadership, perserverance, initiative, and integrity of the applicant. 
      • 1st Letter of recommendation must be signed and dated by core teacher who has taught the student in a formal class at Glades Central.
        • Core subjects include Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading, and English.
      • 2nd Letter of recommendation must be signed and dated by an extracurricular club advisor or community leader.
      • The recommender cannot be a relative.
    • Must have 1 letter of recommendation if GPA is greater than 3.0, touching on the leadership, perserverance, initiative, and integrity of the applicant.
      • Letter of recommendation must be signed and dated by a core teacher who has taught the student in a formal class at Glades Central.
        • Core subjects include Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading, and English.
      • The recommender cannot be a relative. 
    • Must be planning to be a full-time college student at a university or state college.
    • Must have a minimum of 20 hours of community service.
    • Must answer 2 of the three essay prompts and upload as one attachment.

    Essay Questions
  • Scholarship applicants must adhere to the following for the essay prompts

    • Answer only two of the three essay prompts and upload as one attachment.
    • Adhere to the 250 - 500 word count for EACH individual question.
    • Indicate the prompt you are answering by stating the question. Do NOT include the prompt in your word count.
    • Format your paper in Times New Roman, 12- point font, and double-spaced.
  • Essay Prompts

    1. Reflect on the challenges you faced while coming of age and how you demonstrated resilience. How will you apply the skills and traits you developed from those experiences to navigate your college years? 
    2. Time management is crucial for success in college, especially when balancing academics with extracurricular activities or work. What strategies will you use to effectively manage your time and responsibilities?
    3. Reflect on your future aspirations and the motivations that drive you toward this path. What specific goals do you envision, and how do they connect to your personal passions and values?
