Donald MacMillan Memorial Bursary
A bursary of $1,000 awarded annually to a female graduating from a high school in New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island and who is entering their first year at an accredited public post-secondary education institution. Applicants must demonstrate participation in leadership, and volunteerism. Special consideration will be given to applicants who played ringette. This one-time, non-renewable scholarship is funded by the Donald MacMillan Memorial Fund, a permanent endowment fund managed by the Fredericton Community Foundation.
About Donald MacMillan:
Donald MacMillan was a devoted girl dad of three and a passionate sports volunteer. He proudly supported his daughters in their many sports and was especially dedicated to ringette. Donald served over seven years on the Moncton Ringette board, including three as president, coached at both house league and high-performance levels, and contributed for many years to Ringette New Brunswick. His commitment to developing the sport and empowering young women inspired the Donald MacMillan Memorial Bursary, supporting female athletes who give back to their communities and the sports that shaped them.
