Please provide a short description of your current academic research. Note: projects must be in the field of stem cells and regenerative medicine. (max 500 words).
*
Describe your experience with genomic, proteomic and/or other “omics” technologies – in particular transcriptomics (max 500 words).
*
Provide specific details on how attending this workshop will advance your research project. For example, describe any challenges you are having with acquiring, analyzing, and interpreting your RNA-seq data set (max 500 words).
*
Describe your plans for disseminating the information learned at this workshop with others in your home lab or institute (max 250 words).
*
A limited number of students will be invited to attend the tutorial segment of the RNA-seq Analysis Workshop, where they will be assisted in analyzing their own data. If you wish to be considered for participation in the tutorial segment, please provide answers to the following questions: (Max. 2000 words)
Briefly describe your experimental design. What is the species? How many samples do you have? Are there biological and/or technical replicates? If so, how many? What sequencing platform was used (e.g. Illumina)? In what file format is the data (e.g. FASTQ, BAM)? What is the read length? Are the reads single or paired-end? What question(s) are you hoping to answer with this data analysis? Do you have a specific hypothesis to test?
Please note: if you have human patient sequencing data that is not already publicly available to analyze, SCN and OHRI need to determine whether or not the Personal Health Information safeguards are in place to ensure privacy. If this is relevant to your data and you have any questions, please contact trainingSCN@stemcellnetwork.ca
