    The City of West Hollywood is pleased to offer the WeHo Community Arts Grant intended to support non-profit arts organizations, individual artists, or artist collectives, with a history of supporting LGBQ, BIPOC and/or female artists and audiences.  Proposed programs can include art centered presentations or participatory programs (workshops) which enhance the community.

    Proposed projects may take place in June but will not be included as part of the WeHo Pride Festival and should be considered as separate from both the WeHo Pride Weekend as well as the WeHo Pride Arts Festival.

    WeHo Community Arts Grant applications are reviewed by the Performing Arts and Cultural Affairs Subcommittee as well as the Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission.

    $30,000           Total amount of available funding in this category per year

    $6,000           Maximum award per grantee per year

    APPLICATION DEADLINE IS 3 P.M. JULY 1, 2026.

    You are eligible for this grant category if you:

    • Are a LA County-based artist, fiscally sponsored organization, collective, or non-profit arts organization with a history of supporting LGBQ, BIPOC and/or female artists and audiences.
    • Have at least 1 year of art project history (may include participatory / art making programs)
    • Are able to provide 2 work samples.

    Eligible projects may include:

    • Projects that celebrate heritage months
    • Arts education programs
    • Participatory art programs (workshops)
    • Arts projects which engage BIPOC, LGBQ and/or female artists
    • Arts projects centered on the theme of social justice

    Projects must take place in West Hollywood or West Hollywood immediately adjacent (within 5 blocks of the border of West Hollywood).

    Applicants must demonstrate a marketing and outreach strategy targeting West Hollywood residents and constituents. 

    NOTE: Organizations whose business location is within the City of West Hollywood will receive a bonus of 1 point to their total score, per City policy.

    Artistic documentation is crucial for evaluating the artistic quality of the applicant and/or project. The artistic samples should reflect concepts and quality of the organization's work. Please provide two (2) samples of artistic documentation. Samples should be recent and relevant to the project. Do not submit press, marketing or promotional materials as artistic documentation.
