Feb 13 | Artist Couples: 100 Years of Love
Wine curated by Lori Devlin
Lecture with Prof. John Cino
Loving relationships come in many forms. Wining About Art kicks off its 2026 season with 100 Years of Love, an exploration of two famous art-making couples. Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O’Keeffe each had groundbreaking careers in photography and painting, respectively. The couple first met in 1916 after exchanging numerous letters. She became the subject of many of his works, and they married in 1924.
During that thoroughly modern relationship, Christo and Jeanne-Claude were born. They met, married, and began collaborating in the late 1950s, eventually creating some of the most ambitious public art ever made. Their collaborations spanned many decades and continents. Wining About Art will sample wines from upstate New York, where Stieglitz and O’Keeffe vacationed. Among the places graced with the work of Christo and Jeanne-Claude are California and Italy—two sites visited multiple times and, you guessed it, known for their wines.
This event is hosted off site in downtown Patchogue.
