2026 Scholarship Application
Eligibility:
- Must be a high school senior and planning to attend a four-year college or university.
- Must have a current minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale or a 3.44 on a 5.0 grading scale. Be advised that the GPA must be included on the transcript.
- Must not be a debutante or beau or the child of an SSCEO board member.
- Must reside in the South Suburbs of Chicago.
- Must be Black/African American or of African descent
Requirements:
- High-School Transcript Submission
  - Submit an official high school transcript including 1st semester senior grades.
  - Transcript must be in a separate sealed envelope and show the high school seal or stamp.
  - Transcripts must be mailed from the high school or the 3rd party clearinghouse used by the school district.
  - Transcript should be mailed to the SSCEO P.O. Box.

Criteria
- Must participate in a virtual interview if selected as a finalist. Business attire.
- Must attend the Society Ball on (Date TBD). Failure to attend the event during the award presentation will result in forfeiture of the award.
- The Scholarship Award must be redeemed within 60 days.
- Note: Any false statements will disqualify the applicant from further consideration

- Letter of Recommendation: Submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor. Letter must be signed and must address SSCEO. Letters of recommendation from parents and/or guardians will not meet the submission requirement.
- Verification of Community Service: Submit one letter documenting active community service on official letterhead.
