Merrimack Maniacs Student Swim Coach Application

Dear Swimming Enthusiast,

Thank you for your interest in becoming a 2026 Merrimack Swim Coach or Mini Instructor.

APPLICATIONS DUE: March 30 2026, by 11pm. We will communicate hiring decisions no later than early April.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Commit to ALL days assigned to the positions listed below.
- Coaches not training with year round club team, MUST attend THREE (3) Merrimack practices per week.
- Coaches training with year round club team must practice once or twice per week at Merrimack.
EXPECTATIONS:
- Wear a SWIMSUIT to all practices. (Women - training two piece or one piece suit, men - jammer or trunks)
- Be familiar with MCSL rules and procedures - http://www.mcls.org.
- Lead by example and be professional at all times - on and off the deck.
- Be enthusiastic and promote team unity, team spirit, and good sportsmanship.
- Refrain from any cell phone use during swim practices or meets.
- Check email daily to ensure good communication with other coaches and team management.
CERTIFICATIONS:
- Current First Aid/CPR/Lifeguarding certification required by 11 May 2026 (You must upload your certificates to Georgetown Aquatics to be paid).

COACH POSITIONS: Senior Coach (19 yr +) or Student Coach 18 and under, must be active on swim team member
- Senior Coach (11 May to 26 July): Must be 19 or older.
  - 11 May to 11 Jun coaching Mon-Thurs 4:30 -7 pm
  - June 15-July 16 coaching Mon-Thurs 4 pm -7 pm
  - Must be available during main season Mon-Fri from ~8:00-10 am
  - Friday AM Awards @ 8:45 am
  - Additional requested practice times, A-Meet, Saturday mornings from 7:30am to 11:30am, B-Meet responsibilities, Wednesday evenings from 4:45pm to 9:00pm, and Divisional/Banquet responsibilities will be communicated with acceptance letter or prior to start of season
  - Coaches Long Course, Relay and Individual All Stars
  - All other duties assigned by the head coach
- Student Swim Coach (11 May to 18 July): Preference to High School Graduates and 17 or older.
  - Must be available 11 May to 11 Jun for Mon through Thurs coaching from 4:30 -7 pm - may only be needed 1-2 nights a week
  - Must be available June 12- July 18 on Mondays through Thursdays from 4 - 7pm, 1-2 nights
  - Must be available during main season Mon-Fri from ~8:00-10 am (one morning per week)
    
    Friday AM Awards @ 8:45 am
    
    Additional requested practice times, assist with B-Meets on Wednesday evenings from 4:45pm to 9:00pm, and Divisional/Banquet responsibilities will be communicated with acceptance letter or prior to start of season
- Mini/8u Team Coaches (11 May to 18 July): Finished 10th grade or older.
  - Must be available 11 May to 11 Jun for Mon through Thurs coaching from 4:30 -7 pm - 1 night a week
    Must be available June 12- July 18 on ALL Mondays through Thursdays from 4 -4:30 pm and help if needed for 8u TEAM practices
    
    Friday AM Awards @ 8:45 am
    Additional requested practice times, assist with B-Meets on Wednesday evenings from 4:45pm to 9:00pm, and Divisional/Banquet responsibilities will be communicated with acceptance letter or prior to start of season
