Club/SBO Purpose Statement
The purpose of the Black Student Union (BSU) is to empower students through leadership, cultural awareness, and unity. BSU provides a space for students to celebrate Black history, heritage, and excellence while promoting respect, inclusion, and positive change within our school and community. We aim to educate, inspire, and uplift by encouraging strong character, academic success, civic engagement, and pride in identity. Through service, dialogue, and cultural programming, BSU works to build confident leaders who use their voices to create a better and more understanding world.

Description of Club Activities
The Black Student Union (BSU) hosts activities that promote culture, leadership, and community. These include cultural celebrations, Black History programs, HBCU awareness, Spirit Week events, community service, and educational field studies. BSU also leads the Better Words, Better World campaign to encourage positivity and respect. Through BSU Talks, students participate in open discussions that build confidence, leadership, and awareness of important social issues.

2nd Wednesday from 830-9:15 & 4-5 PM

Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C) 6A-10.089- School Sponsored Events and Activities:
Parent permission required for students to participate in any event or activity. This includes extracurricular activities such as clubs. (Any off campus field study activity must utilize and follow the filed study guide requirements)
