                                                                        Volunteers will paint and clean outside furniture. Volunteers will also help landscape outside sitting areas to make the space more enjoyable.  (8 volunteers)

                                                                        Paint and Pack Goodie Bags with City Year

                                                                        Help City Year Inc. paint the library at the Salvation Army to help revive it into a vibrant and engaging space that promotes reading and learning. Volunteers will also pack goodie bags for local students.

                                                                        Refresh Landscaping at The Salvation Army

                                                                        Volunteers will weed landscaping beds, trim hedges, lay mulch and plant flowers around the residential campus at The Salvation Army providing a more welcoming and vibrant environment for all. (15 volunteers)

                                                                        Beautification at Rivers Edge Retreat

                                                                        We will refresh the grounds to prepare for summer camps by weeding, cutting grass, and removing debris. Volunteers will also deep clean classrooms by vacuuming, mopping, and dusting. (25 volunteers)

                                                                        Landscape at Mission Lexington

                                                                        Volunteers will remove weeds, dead plants, and debris; prepare the soil by adding fresh soil or compost as needed; plant flowers and greenery in garden beds and pots; and finish by watering the plants and cleaning up the work area. (10 volunteers)

                                                                        Granby Garden Uplift

                                                                        This island garden at the Granby Park entry was planted in 2007 by Leadership Columbia and is in need of a refresh. Rangers have removed old/overgrown wax myrtles and replanted serviceberries. We will thin and transplant irises and remove some invasive caladiums then add some native plants to support pollinators. Shovel to remove caladiums and thin irises. We will help pull weeds, plant new specimens, and spread mulch. (15 volunteers)

                                                                        Invasive Plant Removal at the Saluda Riverwalk

                                                                        Volunteers will learn about invasive species and use rakes, shovels, loppers and pruning shears to remove invasive and exotic plants from the park, opening space for native plants to emerge. Target plants include English Ivy, Privet and Russian Olive. (15 volunteers)

                                                                        Landscape and Cook at the Fisher House

                                                                        Help add mulch and plant flowers to beautify the house for residents. Volunteers will also help prepare a meal for the residents to enjoy. (10 volunteers)

                                                                        Organize at Camp Cole

                                                                        Volunteers will help sort, inventory, and properly store life jackets. Organize the kayaks, paddles, and related accessories for easy access. Help organize fishing poles, tackle, and gear to prevent damage and tangling. Improve the layout of the shed to make items more accessible and user-friendly. Identify and address any damaged equipment. Sweep and clean the shed interior and surrounding areas. (10 volunteers)

                                                                        Ready to Roll: ABLE's Closet Organization Day

                                                                        The Assistive Technology (AT) closet supports the daily movement of mobility and access equipment in and out of the Able SC office. Community members donate items, we store them, and people with disabilities reach out to find equipment they need—such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, grabbers, and shower chairs. The goals of this project are to: Implement a new tracking system that uses barcodes and a digital database so their AT team can quickly see what equipment they have and where it is located. Reorganize and overhaul the physical layout of the AT Closet to improve safety, accessibility, and efficiency. Sort equipment by type, label each item with a barcode, and store items in a consistent, easy-to-find way. (10 volunteers)

                                                                        Discarding items that are no longer viable costumes; reorganizing costume boxes and racks; labeling and sorting clothes. (10 volunteers)

                                                                        Volunteers will aid in the preservation of Historic Columbia’s textile collection by refolding the museum’s quilts.

                                                                        Help Upkeep The Therapy Place

                                                                        Volunteers will install lattice panels beneath the exterior ramp leading to the new modular to improve safety and appearance. Bushes and flowers will be planted surrounding the lattice and sidewalk. Volunteers will also sand and stain the breezeway, preparing surfaces and applying stain to refresh and protect the structure. (15 volunteers)

                                                                        Volunteers will help with home repairs on a local residents home including repairing front porch, painting, fixing front door and windown screens.  (10 volunteers)

                                                                        Clean at the Big Red Barn Retreat

                                                                        Big Red Barn Retreat, located in Blythewood, supports veterans and first responders through post-traumatic growth. We will help clean Leons Iron Lodge which is their space where veterans reside throughout their retreat. Volunteers will help clean the kitchen, organize the pantry, sweep, dust and mop bedrooms. (15 volunteers)

                                                                        Beautification at USO South Carolina

                                                                        Create a sparkling clean USO center for thousands of service members at McGrady Training Center to use for relaxation and camaraderie. We will beautify their space by pulling weeds, picking up litter, organizing closets, dusting surfaces and sweeping.  (8 volunteers)

                                                                        Spring Clean up at Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services (PAALS)

                                                                        Help sweep and rake sidewalks and yards, clean out and reorganize storage areas, plant some flowers, clean inside,  clean windows, aid in cleaning areas that are usually neglected.  (20 volunteers)

                                                                        Volunteers will clean and sanitize educational classrooms and Cross Hatch space. Task include wiping down all surface areas of spaces, organizing art supplies, and cleaning Main Street windows to help educators prepare for summer camps. (6 volunteers)

                                                                        Volunteers will clean windows, deep clean the art room, conference room and day center restrooms, apply mold prevention in restrooms, and organize the clothing closet to make it a more inviting space for residents.                                                                         Stuff Packets for NAMI Mid-Carolina

                                                                        Help prepare items for NAMI's educational outreach programs. This will include stuffing informational packets, that will be handed out to community partners. (10 volunteers)

                                                                        Volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club BGCM Annual Education Day

                                                                        The Boys and Girls Club will host the BGCM Annual Education Day (Academic Success Celebration). Volunteers will support Be Great Academy Education Day by assisting with proctoring spelling and math bee events, serving as judges for competition rounds as needed, guiding participants to event rooms and staging areas, and facilitating game rooms for parents and members between rounds. These roles ensure smooth transitions, fair and consistent competitions, engaging waiting activities, and a positive, welcoming experience for all participants throughout the day. (20 volunteers)

                                                                        Stuff Goodie Bags with Senior Resources

                                                                        Volunteers will fill each bag with thoughtfully selected goodies and include handwritten notes featuring encouraging, uplifting, and inspirational messages. These personal touches are designed to brighten the day of older adults and remind them they are valued, appreciated, and connected to their community. (10 volunteers)

                                                                        Volunteer at the March for Babies Walk

                                                                        Help at the March for cheer on walkers on the route, set up and break down event activities, and distribute information at the mission tent to event attendees. (20 volunteers)

                                                                        Forest Acres Festival

                                                                        Help the City of Forest Acres and Rotary Club of Forest Acres set up for the Forest Acres Festival and greet people into the festival. Volunteers will help carry tables and chairs from the field house out onto the field and set them up under the concession tent and the tailgating tents. Volunteers will also place signage in front of the rides and tailgating tents, and welcome guests and assist with parking. (15 volunteers)

                                                                        2026 Cocky Trot 5K

                                                                        Volunteers will help hand out water at hydration stations and medals to race finishers. The Cocky Trot 5K is an event organized by Gamecock Athletics, aimed at promoting community spirit and fitness. These volunteer shifts will be from 7:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (25 volunteers)
