Who can request items from Cloth+Foster?
Cloth+Foster provides essential goods to caregiver families supporting children in foster, adoptive, relative, and kinship care. Our request process is caregiver-led, and all tangible goods requests should be submitted directly by caregivers through our online form.
While we ask request to come directly from caregivers, we welcome social workers, case aides, and support staff to assist with pick-up or delivery if transportation or logistics are a barrier for the family. Once a caregiver submits the request, we’re happy to help coordinate those additional steps to ensure families receive the support they need.
Our programs are designed specifically for children placed with caregivers. While we wish we could serve every family in need, we are currently unable to provide resources for children in trial return home or those in the care of their biological parents, as this falls outside our current scope.
How often can I submit a request?
Requests for each child in your care can be submitted every 90 days or upon placement of a new child in the home to ensure we can serve as many families as possible.
What items can I request?
We provide essential items for children ages 0 and up, including:
Clothing essentials: Tops, bottoms, underwear, socks, shoes, pajamas, jackets.
Baby necessities: Diapers, wipes, bottles, bibs, feeding supplies.
Hygiene and self-care: Shampoo, body wash, lotion, toothbrushes, and other toiletries.
Developmental and enrichment items: Age-appropriate books, toys, and learning materials.
Special occasion supplies: Basic birthday supplies and gifts.
Larger items (as available): Pack ‘n plays, car seats, strollers, high chairs.
Are there any restrictions on what I can request?
Yes. Our inventory is donation-based, so availability varies. We do not regularly stock:
Specialty undergarments (e.g., medical-grade compression wear).
Luxury brands or high-end specialty items.
Specific colors or character-themed items.
How long does it take to fulfill my request?
We aim to fulfill requests within 5-7 business days, depending on volunteer availability and request volume. You’ll be notified when your items are ready for pickup at our location.
For emergency requests, please call or email us directly.
What if an item I requested is unavailable?
Since we rely on donations, inventory fluctuates. If an item is unavailable, we will contact you directly via the phone number and email provided on your request to offer any alternatives we may have.
Can I request items for multiple children in my care?
Yes! Please submit a separate request form for each child. This helps us track requests and ensures efficient service from our volunteers.
Is there a cost for these items?
No. Thanks to the generosity of our community donors, all items from Cloth+Foster are completely free to families.
