General Event Guidelines
1. Follow City Rules & Public Space Guidelines
Events taking place in public areas must comply with all City of Austin regulations. Do not block sidewalks, streets, bike lanes, or emergency access routes unless proper permits have been obtained.
2. Stay Clear of the Race Course
All event setups must remain off the active race course and should never interfere with runners, volunteers, medical staff, or event operations.
3. Safety First
Event organizers are responsible for the safety of participants and spectators. Please ensure setups are secure and do not create hazards.
4. Be Respectful of Neighborhoods & Businesses
Many marathon routes pass through residential and business areas. Please be mindful of noise levels, especially during early morning hours, and leave spaces clean after your event.
5. No Unauthorized Branding or Commercial Activity
Events may not imply official partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement by the Austin Marathon unless explicitly approved. Unauthorized sales, sampling, or brand activations may require additional permissions.
6. Clean Up After Your Event
Organizers are expected to leave the area in the same or better condition than it was found.
