Thank you for taking part in the 2026 State of Downtown Asheville Survey.

This survey is one way the the Asheville Downtown Association (ADA), The Asheville Downtown Improvement District (ADID), and public partners listen to and learn from people who experience Downtown in different ways: whether you live, work, own property, operate a business, or spend time Downtown.

The survey is divided into a few short sections:

• Shared questions about downtown conditions, such as perception of safety, cleanliness, and the public realm
• Shared questions about Asheville Downtown Improvement District services, including ambassador presence, responsiveness, and service hours
• Role-specific questions that appear based on how you primarily experience Downtown (for example, as a resident, business owner, or visitor)

Everyone sees the shared questions. You’ll then be shown a small number of questions that are most relevant to your perspective based on the selection you made. We're so grateful for your time and input! 

Completing the survey will allow you to enter to win a $100 gift certificate to a Downtown business of your choice! 

Understanding the Asheville Downtown Organizations

Downtown Asheville is supported by multiple organizations working in partnership. The Asheville Downtown Improvement District (ADID) focuses on on-the-ground services such as Ambassador hospitality, cleaning, beautification, maintenance in coordination with City departments.

The Asheville Downtown Association (ADA) is a nonprofit membership organization that focuses on advocacy, marketing, events, business support, and convening stakeholders, and manages the City contract for ADID services.
