  • Our Pet Foster Policy

  • This application must be filled out in its entirety to be considered for fostering. False or incomplete applications will be considered null and void.

    All approved fosters will be required to complete and adhere to our foster contract which will be sent to you once you're approved to foster.

     Foster's transport help is needed to complete vetting (in Midland, MI) and spay/neuter (in Mt. Pleasant or Clare, MI)

    Application Information:

    • Filling out an application does not guarantee foster approval. We reserve the right to deny any application.
    • All meet & greets and adoptions take place at Lil' Pear Tree, 702 S. Saginaw Rd Midland, MI.
    • When fostering a dog, all other dogs in the home must attend the meet & greet to ensure compatibility.
    • Applications are processed in the order they are received.

    Vetting History Check:

    • Our application department will be contacting your current/recent vet(s) and asking for vetting history.
      • All current and recent pets must be spayed/neutered.
      • Current and recent pets must be consistently up-to-date on vaccines. 
      • Annual heartworm testing is required and pets need to be on a Heartworm preventative at least six months out of the year consistently.

     Special Requirements:

    • If any foster pets have special requirements, like a fence or medication they're currently on, that will be discussed early on in the application process.
