Discover the art of linocut printmaking! In this class, students will design, carve, and print their own linoleum block, learning the fundamentals of relief printmaking from image transfer to the final print. Perfect for beginners or those with some experience looking to refresh their skills and explore a hands-on, creative process.
About the Instructor:
Michael Weatherly is a Minnesota based contemporary printmaker from Elbow Lake, MN. He furthered
his education at the University of Minnesota Morris obtaining a BA in Art history and minor in Studio art
with an emphasis in printmaking. He has been the recipient of several artist grants including the
McKnight Foundation Artist Grant, Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Grants and Individual Artist
Grants from the Lake Regions Arts Council. Recently he was awarded the 2024 LRAC Fellowship grant.
He has exhibited his work nationally and internationally and has been featured on the cover of 500,000 Evangelical Lutheran Church bulletins.
Class Date: Saturday & Sunday, February 14 & 15, 1:00-4:00pm
Sliding Scale Registration Fee: $80-$120 (supplies included)
Class will take place in the Printmaking room located in the lower level at Kaddatz Galleries (111 W. Lincoln Ave. Fergus Falls, MN 56537).
