Keeping children and vulnerable people safe while out in community and on country, is very important to us for 3 main reasons.
Firstly, because we are ambassadors for Christ and His Kingdom, not only in what we say or sing, but also in how we live and behave.
Secondly, because significant trust and responsibility is given by families, parents and carers as we spend time in THEIR community with THEIR children.
And Thirdly, because after you leave, Christians will continue to serve and proclaim the Gospel in these communities and they don't want to be left having to attend to issues that have arisen from peoples misconduct.
Often, and usually in the smaller communities, children will turn up at the children's activities without their parents. Volunteers are NEVER to be alone with any child at any time. All activities are to take place in open spaces, and children are to be free to come and go as they want, unless specific instructions have been given by parents and/or carers.
In the event that anyone would like to raise concerns regarding child safety, or the behaviour of any volunteers, please direct them to Paul Strahan - 0438758629 or Doug Gordon - 0459565057
(These contact details will be made available and displayed throughout convention.)
Any volunteer who is found to have breached the Code of Conduct as stated below will be removed from the Children's Programmes, and appropriate reports will be made to the OCG. Depending on the circumstances the volunteer may be asked to leave immediately, at their own cost.
