Dear Commissioners,
I am writing in support of the Merrill’s Pit – Mineral Extraction SUP proposed by Granite Companies, LLC.
As a contractor working extensively in this region, I can attest that access to locally
sourced aggregate is essential to efficient and cost-effective construction. Without nearby gravel production, projects are burdened with excessive hauling distances, higher costs, and unnecessary impacts on public roadways.
This application reflects sound planning and an understanding of Gem County’s long-term infrastructure needs. I respectfully urge the Board to approve this Special Use Permit.
