  • The Latino Cultural Center is excited to announce the open call for the 18th annual Hecho en Dallas. This juried art exhibition highlights the works of professional and working artists who reside in the DFW Metroplex. This year's jurors are Michelle Cortez Gonzales (Fort Worth, TX) and José Vázques Ramírez (Dallas, TX).

     
    Since 2003, Hecho en Dallas has celebrated Dallas’ diverse visual artistic community by present this annual juried show. This year, the exhibition will coincide with the World Cup in Dallas, a time when the city is expected to experience its highest tourism of the year. Hecho En Dallas will be up for a total of seven weeks, with artist talks, and various programs occurring throughout its display.
     
    Hecho En Dallas will run from June 6, 2026 – July 24, 2026 with an opening reception on Saturday, June 6 from 6-9 pm.

    Exhibition Timeline
    Call opens: February 17, 2026
    Submission deadline: April 19, 2026 midnight
    Notifications to artists: week of May 3, 2026 via email
    Delivery of artwork: May 23, 2026 (center is closed Sundays & Mondays)
    Opening reception: Saturday June 6 from 6 - 8 pm
    Exhibition dates: June 6 – July 24, 2026
    Pick-up artwork: July 24, 25, 2026, 10 am to 5 pm

    Eligibility
     
    · Artists must reside in the City of Dallas or within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex
     
    · Art must have been created within the last three years to be eligible
     
    · Any medium will be considered; however, artists who exhibit artwork that requires the use of special equipment (computers, projectors, multimedia devices, etc.) will be responsible for providing such equipment for the duration of the exhibition
     
    · Size limit for 3D artwork will not exceed 15 feet (length + width + depth), with the longest side of the piece not exceeding 7 feet
     
    · For 2D artwork, the longest side cannot exceed 7 feet
     
    · There is no entry fee for this juried exhibition

    How to Submit Entries

    Please submit the following for consideration:

    ·Entries must be submitted via Jotform
     
    · Max of three artworks to be considered, one image per artwork; image files should be 1MB - 5MB large and be named using the last name of the artist, first initial of first name, and sequential numbers for every digital photograph submitted. Example: GonzalezC1.jpg
     
    · Artist statement of 50 words or less
     
    · Artworks to be considered must follow the size parameters defined above
     
    · Completed Artist Entry Form, Artwork Submission and Liability Release Form. (Uncompleted submissions will not be considered. Checklist at the end of the form)

    Notification
     
    · Artists will be notified of selection the week of May 3, 2026 via email
     
    · Works must be ready for display, including framing and a secure hanging device, if applicable. Artwork that is not suitable for hanging/displaying will not be included in the exhibition

    Delivery of Artwork

     · Artwork must be delivered to the Latino Cultural Center, 2600 Live Oak Street, Dallas, Texas 75204, on Saturday May 23, 2026 (center is closed Sundays & Mondays)


     · Mailed entries should arrive at the LCC by the delivery date

     · The Latino Cultural Center/Office of Art & Culture does not provide insurance on artwork displayed at the center and artists will need to provide a signature for the liability waiver digitally during submission.

The LCC will exercise the utmost care and diligence in handling all artworks provided.
