I understand that RFK is a Christian camp and will support and participate daily in the spiritual activities of the camp.
I understand my role is to love and listen to the campers just as Jesus would. If a camper asks me faith type questions, I will respond by reminding him/her of the teachings we received at camp and listen, not give my interpretation of scripture to answer their questions.
I understand sharing or advocating personal opinions on divisive social topics is not the purpose of our time together at camp. Our priority is to focus on the things that bind us, not things that divide us.
I understand that camp will be challenging and so I commit to let my actions be led by the Spirit to create a loving environment where each of us feels supported, regardless of any theological or personal differences.
I understand that camp will be difficult and I will probably get irritated at one time or another.
I understand that at camp I may be stressed and have cravings for certain substances. I will not abuse prescribed medications or consume any legal or illegal drugs or alcohol at camp. And when I am feeling upset, I will seek out support to help me manage any emotions so I can be clear headed & self controlled.
I understand that camp is FOR THE CHILDREN and I will daily put aside my own needs and give myself to these children that have experienced trauma. I will extend generosity and compassion, expecting nothing in return, for these six full days.
