    The Nagara-on-the-Lake Museum is owned and operated by the Niagara Historical Society.
  • Become a Kid Curator this summer and explore the history of your community in a fun and exciting way! Each day is packed with games, competitions, activities, outdoor adventures and nature walks, experiments, crafts, and so much more! There is a little bit of everything for everyone.

    Camp is held at the NOTL Museum with two sessions available to choose from, one week-long day camp in July and another session in August. The cost is $150 per child for one week and is for those aged 7-12 years old.* 

     

    Please note: In order to keep the cost of camp low, we sometimes require that you drop off or pick up the camper from different locations. 

     *7 years- must be age at the start of the camp 

    *12 years- must be age as of Dec. 31 of the current year.

    Advanced registration is required. We have limited camp space available, so registration is accepted on a first-come basis.

    Please consider which week(s) of camp you are selecting to sign up campers for. There are options for the July Week, August Week, or Both.

    Registration forms are not accepted if they are missing any imporant information. Incomplete registration forms ARE NOT PROCESSED and are returned- please ensure all fields are filled out accurately.

    In addition to the Parent/Guardians listed in this registration form, the person(s) listed below are allowed to pick up the registrant. In this section, please consider if the registrant will be carpooling with other campers, if they are staying with family members for the week, etc. 
  • In order for anyone to sign out and pick up a camper they must be listed on this registration form.

     

    Any changes or additions must be noted in writing by email to the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum and be accompanied by the individual(s) contact information.

     

  • Camp Session Information

    Kid Curator Camp runs Monday through Friday starting at 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Drop off begins at 9:45 a.m. and pick up ends at 4:15 p.m., unless otherwise arranged with Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum Staff.
  • What to Bring to Camp

    Campers need the following items to be prepared for all activities:

    • To ensure a healthier environment please pack filled water bottles, a litterless lunch, and two snacks from home.
    • Extra drinks and refillable water bottles are required WITH name lables.
    • Please ensure that lunches and snacks are free of peanuts, nuts, nut products and traces of nuts. Snacks that "may contain peanuts, traces of nuts or nut products" are not permitted.
    • We are outside in all sorts of weather - please send the camper with weather-appropriate clothing including hats, raincoats, sunscreen, and appropriate footwear (running shoes are a must!
    • Please pack an extra change of clothing.
    • Camp is a time to make friends, learn, and explore Niagara-on-the-Lake. To facilitate this, please make sure electronic toys, music devices, video games, trading cards, and toys in general stay at home.
    • Please ensure that everything brought to camp is labeled with the campers name.

    The NOTL Museum is not responsible for any items the registrant(s) loses at camp. Please label all of their belongings with their first and last name, and leave all valuables at home. Registrant(s) are asked not to bring items of any significant value. We do not provide refunds for damaged or lost belongings. Please do not bring electronic devices to camp.

     

     Cancellation and Refunds

    The Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum (NOTL Museum) reserves the right to cancel any camp program if the minimum number of participants is not reached. If NOTL Museum cancels a camp, registrants are fully refunded. Refunds are not issued for inclement weather or if a camper is removed for violating our Behaviour Management Procedures. Requests for cancellations or refunds must be made to the NOTL Museum via email.

    Cancellation requests received 14 days before the start of camp will receive a refund, less $25.00/session/Registrant. Cancellation requests received within 13 days of the start of camp will not qualify for a refund. A doctor's note is required for cancellations due to medical reasons and must be dated before the registrant(s) session(s) start date.

  • Behaviour Management Procedures

    The NOTL Museums' Kid Curator Camp strives to create a positive community through safe, respectful, fun, and diverse learning experiences. Behaviour that is seen to go against a positive atmosphere and/or is seen as unacceptable behaviour is dealt with swiftly. Registrant(s) who, given guidance and opportunities to correct their behaviour, fail to comply, are subject to progressive discipline up to and including having their privilege to participate in camp revoked. Refunds are not given for any registrant(s) sent home or removed from camp for disciplinary reasons.

     Medical and Personal Information

    The more information you can provide, the better we can meet the needs of the registrant(s). This information will be used by NOTL Museum staff. The information you provide us will be treated with confidentiality and respect.

    If the Registrant(s) require medication while in our care, all medication must be in the original container labeled with the participants name and prescription number (when applicable). Please send only enough medication for the week.

    If the camper has been identified as requiring an epi-pen for life-threatening allergies or in need of an inhaler, they will need to accompany the registrant(s) to camp each day. Under staff discretion, and for the registrants safety, we can decide not to admit the registrant(s) to camp if they do not have their epi-pen or life-saving medication with them.

  • Medical Emergencies Waiver 

    In the event of an accident, injury or illness involving the registrant(s), I hereby authorize and grant permission to the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum staff to perform first aid on the registrant(s). Niagara-on- the-Lake Museum staff will make reasonable effort to contact the parent/guardians listed on the registration form, however, in the event that a contact cannot be reached, or if immediate help is required, I hereby authorize and grant permission to Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum staff to secure medical treatment, and authorize on the registrant(s) behalf for all procedures, including, and without limitation to: emergency services, admission to an emergency unit, hospital and treatment therein, ordering of x-rays, tests or treatment, injections, anesthesia and/or surgery, as deemed necessary by the attending medical professional(s). I agree not to hold the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum responsible for any costs or injury arising out of a medical/emergency situation.

     

    Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement

     As a parent/guardian of the minor participating in the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum Kid Curator Camp, I hereby acknowledge that certain Kid Curator Camp activities include excursions by foot and off-site locations. I am aware that there are many risks, dangers and hazards involved in the Kid Curator Camp, including, but not limited to slips, trips, and falls; broken bones and sprains; unintentional or intentional injury by another person; negligence of campers, negligence of other parties participating in Kid Curator Camp, and negligence on the part of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum to safeguard and protect the registrant from the risks, dangers and hazards from all activities. I freely accept and full assume all risks, dangers and hazards associated with Kid Curator Camp and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage or loss as a result thereof the registrant participation. I agree and acknowledge that the registrant has my permission to participate in all activities and will participate in any activity entirely at their own risk and that they are medically fit to undertake such activities.


    As the parent/guardian, I/we agree to waive any and all claims that I have or may have in the future against the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum its trustees, officers, directors, employees, agents and independent contractors, respective successors (all of whom are hereinafter referred to as the “Releasees”) and to release the Releasees from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expenses or injury including death, and including direct, indirect, special, exemplary, consequential, multiple, punitive or other damages, arising from or in

    I have read and understood this agreement prior to signing it. I am aware that by signing the Medical Emergencies Waiver and the Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement I am waiving certain legal rights which I or my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators and assigns may have against the Releasees.

  • Photo and Video Consent and Release Form 

  • By checking the "yes" box, I/we hereby grant permission to the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum and its representatives to photograph and/or video of the registrant(s), and otherwise capture their image, and to make video recordings. I further grant to the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum and its representatives the right to reproduce, use, exhibit, display, broadcast and distribute these images and recordings in any media now known or later developed for promoting, publicizing or explaining the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum and its activities and for administrative, educational, marketing or research purposes. The photographs and/or videos might also be used by news media in promoting the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum.
