Summer Camp - Staff Applications (2026)
  • Summer Camp - Staff Applications (2026)

  • Hello friends,

The preparations for POG Summer Camp 2026 (July 12 -18th) have begun. (Staff arriving July 11)

Every year there is a need to have over 50 people volunteer to serve at the People of God Summer Camp. While most of the staff comes from the People of God, we have been blessed with staff from many other communities.  Because of size limitations, we cannot, unfortunately, accommodate everyone who volunteers to serve.  Over the years, we have developed a process that gives structure to filling our staffing needs.  The varied opportunities for service include the need for Head Counselors, Assistant Counselors, Junior Counselors, Service Team, Activities Staff and other support staff.

Volunteer staff fall into 3 categories: "Juniors"  -  Seniors  -  Adults.

If you (or your child(ren)) are currently a freshman, sophomore, or junior in high school you are welcome to apply to be on our junior staff this year. If you are currently a senior in high school, and would like to volunteer, your application is a bit different. Seniors wishing to volunteer will submit a testimony of their spiritual journey and why they would like to serve at Summer Camp. Seniors will also submit their clearances.

Applications are due February 15th, 2026 (This gives you 3 weeks to apply!! We are in real need of these applications being finished in a timely manner)

Please reach out to me if you have any questions or if issues with the links arise!

***Any adult wishing to serve at camp (in any capacity) can reach out to me to discuss what the needs of camp are this year. All adults will be required to take the needed trainings and submit the needed clearances for youth work.

    God Bless,
    Joel Pepmeyer

  • 1st Time Junior Staff Applicant

  • Dear Parents and Junior Staff Applicants,

Young people, we need you and view your contribution to summer camp as essential to what the Lord is doing among us and through us! We rejoice greatly that the Lord has given so many of our young people ‘a heart’ for camp. This is indeed a great blessing from the Lord. This form is the application for serving at summer camp as Junior Staff. A "Junior" is a student currently in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year of high school. We are not looking at exceptional vocabulary or eloquence in your responses. We are focusing upon content only. The last page is the Statement of Expectations agreement. Both parent and applicant should carefully read and sign off on the agreement.

The deadline to return the application is Feb 15th, 2026.

Another way in which we have been richly blessed is having other communities serve with us. In an effort to help campers from these communities feel at home at our camp, it is important for us to incorporate youth from such communities into staff positions. The Lord has also moved powerfully in and through teens who have served at camp that have not been a part of the People of God. As directors, we acknowledge the Lord’s work in this area and want to remain open to having some of these youth serve at camp.

This year we are requesting that the junior staff donate the cost (not the price) of camp which is roughly $325. This is about what All Saints camp charges us for one person. For those planning to go on a regional mission trip, we are requesting that you donate half of this amount ($163.)

We want to most sincerely assure each one of you that you have a valuable and unique place in our life together. Our humble hope is to accurately discern whom the Lord wants to attend and serve at Summer Camp. Please pray for camp and thanks for your desire to serve the Lord in this ministry!

The dates for camp this year are July 12th-18th, 2026. Staff arrive July 11th.

  • General Information

  •  - -
  • Testimony

Please write a testimony of your Christian life. Include a description of your past and present relationship with Jesus Christ and how you see your future with God. Seek to answer the following questions: When were you experienced baptism in the Holy Spirit and what does that mean for your life today (Note: this is what we pray for at the "Gathering for Christ" at camp and is a stirring up of the Holy Spirit already present in your life, and it is different from a baptism with water)? Do you read the Bible regularly? Identify a Bible story and tell us why it is meaningful to you.
  • Application Questions

Summer Camp gives us the opportunity and challenge of working with others.
  • Personal Conduct Policy

Summer Camp provides tremendous opportunities to be ambassadors of Christ, and to witness to the presence of God in our world. Thus, how we conduct ourselves and carry ourselves at camp is extremely important. Participants must be willing to set aside various personal preferences, especially regarding dress and lifestyle. Our choice of clothing and appropriate behavior will help us to reflect Christ as we serve. Appropriate relating in both speech and action is important to our service and mission. Pursuit of a romantic relationship or flirtatious behavior/speech can cause complications and/or distractions which hinder our service together and our growth in relationships with our brothers/sisters.
  • Statement of Expectations

  • As a Staff Member for the People of God Summer Camp, I understand that it is my responsibility to fulfill my commitment to serve while relying upon God’s grace and empowerment. Meaningful and positive interaction with campers will be my main priority! Both fellow staff members and campers will be observing my conduct and therefore it is important to be a positive, Christian role model at all times.

With this in mind, I realize that I am expected to:

    • Perform my assigned responsibilities to the best of my ability.
    • Support campers in their relationship with Jesus.
    • Seek and respect adult direction and supervision whenever necessary. (This is expected of everyone who is involved with camp!)
    • Model proper behavior/speech that is beneficial to the entire camp experience. Encourage healthy interactions and discussions (no negative humor, swearing, gossip, etc.), thus providing opportunities for appropriate fun and fellowship.
    • Maintain a modest overall appearance (appropriate length shorts/skirt – at least fingertip length w/arms extended at my side, no exposure of spaghetti straps, midriff or boxer shorts, modest one-piece bathing suit, clothing/t-shirts should be free of wording that is flirtatious or ungodly and should not be ‘low-cut’!
    • Not use/purchase alcohol or tobacco products. They are not permitted on camp grounds!)
    • Be punctual for all scheduled assignments, arriving at a particular location prior to the requested time.
    • Adhere to the camp curfew -11pm.
    • Camp is an amazing opportunity to unplug from devices for the week. As such Juniors will not be allowed to use their devices for entertainment, music, or games at any time (whether free time or times of serving). If a device is brought to camp, it will be stored in the millennium building, and only be accessible in case of emergency or with prior stated permission from a director.
    • At camp “flexibility is our middle name”. As such you may be asked to serve in a way that was not in your original job description. We expect that you will be quick to serve, remembering that everything we do at camp is in service to God and the campers

****If chosen to serve at camp, I understand that the Summer Camp Director will assign a role for me that he considers to be most helpful to the camp mission. I agree to abide by all Summer Camp policies and guidelines. I also understand that choosing not to follow these policies and conduct guidelines during camp could result in my dismissal. I realize that it is the responsibility of the Summer Camp Directors to make this type of decision and that I would be responsible for supporting such a decision.

  • Adult Volunteer

  • All adult volunteers asked to serve at camp will need to submit their state specific clearances that are required for youth work.

They will also complete all parts of the POG Child Protection Policy (CPP) training (this may happen prior to camp via an online training and/or on the first Sunday morning of camp at the staff meeting (July 13th).

Important: Please consider beginning to get your clearances as those would need submitted by June 1, 2026. They can often be delayed, sometimes by months, so please plan accordingly.

Note: You may have some of these clearances from your past volunteering at church or your local community. If so, copies of these can often be submitted. Reach out to Joel Pepmeyer to find out. Also, if you have volunteered with POG Camp in the recent past, we may still have your clearances on file.
