    through caring for the Wetlands

Bring along your kayaks for a morning on this magnificant wetland.

Healthy wetlands are the the kidneys of the catchment—capturing nutrients, filtering water, and providing vital habitat biodiversity. Just 350 metres from Iron Pot Creek in Ettrick lies a spectacular 4 hectare wetland. Over the last 6 months Landcare has planted over 1000 trees around this wetland and now we are setting our sites on the Islands.

With a focus on FUN, we are getting adventurous volunteers together with kayaks, canoes and boogie boards to venture on out to the islands and wrestle down the weeds to make space for planting natives. Island tunes, a good feed and great company all provided.
