Dear Student:
The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of more than 17,500 professional women of African descent in 301 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other per sons of African ancestry.
The Greater Miami (FL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has been providing transformational programming in the Miami-Dade community and beyond since 1955.
If you are a student of African descent, who will graduate from an accredited Miami-Dade County public, charter, or private high school; or an authorized home education program by July 2026 and plan to pursue a college degree, you are invited to apply for The Links, Incorporated ~ Greater Miami (FL) Chapter 2026 General Scholarship. The Greater Miami (FL) Chapter will award five (5) scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each to qualifying, talented, and deserving students who have excelled in academics and community service.
Deadline: Friday, March 27, 2026 (11:59 PM ET)
NOTE: INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS OR PLAGIARIZED CONTENT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
To be considered complete, your submission must include:
1. Completed application form.
2. Three (3) original signed letters of recommendation:
- one (1) letter of recommendation from a teacher who instructed you in senior high school;
- one (1) letter of recommendation from a high school counselor or administrator; and
- one (1) letter of recommendation from a community service/activity sponsor detailing your community service project/activity.
3. A 500-word (maximum) essay as outlined on scholarship application.
4. One (1) color photograph (headshot – no smaller than 4’’ x 6’’).
5. Two (2) certified copies of most recent high school transcript as follows:
- one (1) must be emailed to scholarships@greatermiamilinksinc.org by authorized school personnel on or before Friday, March 27, 2026; and
- one (1) must be uploaded as part of online application packet at time of submission.
