As the 2026 season begins, the Royal St. George Yacht Club (RStGYC) is hosting a valuable opportunity for both prospective Local Safety Leaders and existing Race Officials. The Local Safety Leader Course, scheduled for Saturday, March 7th, 2026, is designed to help participants gain essential safety skills and improve their ability to engage in informed and constructive conversations with safety officers.
Led by Philip Scallan (National Safety Lead for Irish Sailing), this course will provide attendees with crucial insights into safety best practices. Race officials will benefit from a deeper understanding of safety protocols, ensuring they are better prepared to collaborate effectively with safety officers during events. Prospective Local Safety Leaders will gain the knowledge needed to take on safety officer roles confidently.
Where & When
The course will take place at RStGYC from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM and costs €40.00.
