Another member of our community is gone.
Alex Pretti — an ICU nurse, a Minneapolis native, and someone who showed up to help others — lost his life while standing up for justice. He acted with courage and compassion in the face of brutality, and we owe it to him, and to each other, to keep going.
What happened to Alex is not an isolated tragedy. It is part of a system that continues to target, terrorize, and dehumanize our communities. We are watching our neighbors, our coworkers, our friends, and our families ripped from their homes — from churches, schools, workplaces — and disappeared without due process into detention centers or forced out of the country.
This is not justice. This is not safety. This is state violence.
ICE continues to operate with impunity, trampling the Constitution and spreading fear in our neighborhoods. And the politicians and administrations that enable this — Kristi Noem, Donald Trump, and those who stand behind them — must be held accountable.
When our family is under attack, what do we do?
WE STAND UP.
WE FIGHT BACK — WITH OUR VOICES, OUR BODIES, AND OUR SOLIDARITY.
We are stronger together. United. Unafraid. Unapologetic.
Change does not come from silence, and it does not come from standing alone. But it does come when the many rise together.
Let your voice be heard. Stand up against the atrocities happening in our country — and right here in our own backyard. One person cannot stop this. But we can.
