Speaker Agreement
Our Purpose Together:
MIST desires to engage the Speaker to present a workshop, lecture, or educational session to promote educational and leadership development among Muslim youth. Your expertise is vital in delivering impactful content that aligns with MIST’s mission and provides high-quality programming for our participants.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Presentation Delivery: Prepare and deliver the presentation on the agreed-upon topic and within the allotted time frame. Ensure the delivery is engaging and appropriate for the tournament audience.
- Content Integrity: All content must be original, or the Speaker must have the legal right to use it. Content should be tailored to a youth audience and must align with MIST’s mission, values, and the specific theme of the tournament.
- Ethical Conduct: Speakers must avoid any content or behavior that is discriminatory, offensive, or inconsistent with Islamic ethical standards.
- Professionalism: Adhere to MIST’s Code of Conduct and Youth Protection Policy. This includes maintaining professional boundaries and treating all students, volunteers, and staff with respect.
- Compliance: Follow all event schedules, staff directions, and venue policies. Professional dress and prompt arrival for your session are required.
- Materials and Promotion: Submit any requested handouts, slides, or technical requirements in advance. Obtain prior written consent from MIST before using the MIST name or logo for any external promotional purposes.
Compensation and Expenses:
- Voluntary Status: Unless otherwise specified in a signed appendix, this engagement is voluntary. The Speaker is not an employee or independent contractor for hire and is not entitled to wages, insurance, or benefits.
Ownership and Recording:
- Intellectual Property: The Speaker retains ownership of their original materials. However, MIST is granted a royalty-free, perpetual license to record, photograph, and distribute the session content for educational, archival, or promotional purposes.
Duration and Renewal:
- This agreement is valid from the date of signing until the successful completion of the specific MIST regional tournament or event for which the Speaker was engaged.
Ending Our Agreement:
- Mutual Cancellation: Either party may cancel the engagement with reasonable written notice.
- Immediate Termination: MIST reserves the right to terminate this agreement immediately if there is a breach of conduct, a violation of the Youth Protection Policy, or if the content is deemed harmful to the MIST brand or mission.
This document constitutes our entire agreement, replacing any previous discussions, emails, or verbal agreements regarding this engagement.
