  • HELP YOUR NEIGHBORS

Forks Area Aid Network in partnership with New Hope for Immigrants
  • Forks Area Aid Network has partnered with New Hope for Immigrants Nonprofit to organize helpers in the Grand Forks, ND and East Grand Forks, MN area by neighborhood so help stays local, relationship-based, and responsive. Rather than centralized services, we support neighbors helping neighbors, with the goal of shared resources, training, and emergency funds.

Our efforts were spurred by the growing fear amongst community members caused by recent immigration enforcement tactics, and our resources currently remain focused on helping our neighbors whose safety and well-being have been directly impacted.

This form is encrypted and identifying information will be handled with care. All helper information will be streamlined to and kept with their "Neighborhood Captains" for ongoing communication and aid purposes.

In the true spirit of mutual aid, all neighbors who join as helpers are also encouraged to submit requests for help as needed.

Inclusive Communities Where Everyone Can Thrive
We believe every person deserves safety, dignity, and belonging. We work to build communities where differences are respected, basic needs are met, and no one is excluded or dehumanized.

    Sustainable & Resilient Communities
We value practices that are environmentally responsible, resource-conscious, and designed for long-term community wellbeing, not short-term extraction or harm.

    Collaborative, Non‑Oppressive Communities
We believe solutions are strongest when developed together. We reject coercion or hierarchy that silences and exploits others, and instead prioritize shared power, consent, and accountability.

    Non‑Violent & De‑Escalatory Community Care
We are committed to peaceful, non‑violent approaches to conflict. Our work centers de‑escalation, harm reduction, and care rather than punishment or force.

    Growth‑Oriented & Learning Communities
We believe communities must evolve to meet new challenges. We value reflection, feedback, and continuous learning in pursuit of a healthier, more just, and participatory democratic society.

    Values‑Aligned Participation
Our network does not support leaders, policies, or systems that undermine these values. Participation in this community requires acting in alignment with them — including rejecting actions, rhetoric, or affiliations that cause harm, exclusion, or fear within our neighborhoods.
