1. Purpose of Agreement
The purpose of this Agreement is to establish the terms under which the Educator may provide educational workshops recognized by the Canadian Pilates Method Society (CPMS). These workshops and certifications are intended to support the safe, effective, and informed use of Pilates equipment within the professional scope of practice. This Agreement does not authorize the Educator to issue Pilates instructor certifications, nor does it position CPMS as an endorsing or certifying body for the Educator's content.
2. Scope of Education
Education may include:
Equipment setup, configuration, and safety
Intended use and application of equipment
Maintenance, care, and longevity of equipment
Programming considerations across various Pilates approaches
All educational content must remain instructional and evidence-informed, and must
not be primarily promotional or sales-driven.
3. Eligible Delivery Formats
Education may be delivered as:
In-person workshops
Virtual workshops or webinars
Hybrid educational formats
Each offering must be submitted individually for CPMS review and approval.
4. Instructor Qualifications
The applicant agrees that all instructors facilitating CPMS-recognized education will:
Possess appropriate experience with the Pilates equipment
Hold relevant Pilates education and professional credentials
Teach within their defined scope of practice
Instructor credentials must be submitted to CPMS as part of the education review
process.
5. Insurance & Liability
The Educator confirms that it maintains:
Active commercial general liability insurance
Professional liability insurance applicable to educational instruction
Proof of insurance must be provided before approval and maintained for the duration of this Agreement. CPMS assumes no liability for Education or equipment use.
6. Continuing Education Credits (CECs)
CPMS may award Continuing Education Credits (CECs) to approved Educators
workshops based on:
Educational relevance
Duration
Learning objectives
CECs are granted solely at the discretion of CPMS and may be revised or revoked if
Educational standards are not maintained.
7. Educational Classification
Approved Education will be classified by CPMS under one of the following categories:
Fitness
Contemporary
Clinical
Classical
Classification reflects educational intent and scope and does not imply endorsement or hierarchy.
8. Use of CPMS Name & Recognition
Upon approval, the Educator may state that the workshop is:
“Recognized by the Canadian Pilates Method Society for Continuing Education Credits.”
The CPMS name, logo, or designation may not be used in marketing materials without prior written approval.
9. Review, Renewal & Termination
CPMS reserves the right to review approved education periodically
Recognition may be revoked if standards are not upheld
Either party may terminate this Agreement with written notice
10. Independence & Non-Endorsement
This Agreement does not create a partnership, joint venture, or endorsement
relationship. The Educator remains fully independent, and CPMS does not recommend or endorse specific approaches or products.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of Canada and the applicable provincial jurisdiction.
