2026 Spirit of Saint John Baptist de la Salle Award Nomination Form

New Hampshire Catholic School Teacher of the Year
St. John Baptist de la Salle, patron saint of teachers, dedicated his virtuous life to the cause of making Catholic education available and accessible to all students who desired it. The New Hampshire Catholic School Teacher of the Year similarly views Catholic education not only as a profession, but as a vocation of service to students and to the greater Church. A practicing Catholic active in his or her faith, the award recipient brings a joyful witness to his or her ministry that inspires students to not only achieve academically, but to put their skills and knowledge to good use creating the Kingdom of God on Earth. The New Hampshire Catholic School Teacher of the Year exemplifies excellence in teaching by being a lifelong learner, earning the respect of peers, and seamlessly integrating spirituality with pedagogy to holistically form students in his or her care.

The recipient of the Spirit of St. John Baptist de la Salle Award is selected among a pool of candidates nominated by students, parents, teachers, colleagues, and community members.
Criteria for Nominees
- Has at least 1 full year teaching in a NH Catholic school
- Teacher can be employed part time or full time.
- Must not have won the St. John Baptiste de la Salle Teacher of the Year within the last three years
Criteria for Nominator
- No family relation to nominee
- Must be part of the current school community/active participant of the school community
- Tell nominator that upon notification, the nominee can decline further consideration
- No anonymous nominations
- Cannot nominate yourself

Week of January 26, 2026: Nominating materials distributed to school Principals and posted on CSO Website.

Friday, March 13, 2026: Deadline for the 2026 nominations.

Monday, April 20, 2026: Award winners are announced and finalists for Teacher of the Year announced.

Friday, June 19, 2026: All award recipients and finalists are honored at the Recognizing Excellence Awards Gala where the Teacher of the Year is announced.
