Under Utah Code §20A-3a-202, voters may choose whether to receive a ballot by mail or vote in person. Beginning in 2029, only active registered voters who affirmatively opt in will receive a mailed ballot.
How Your Choice Works
- If you choose to receive a ballot by mail:
You can still vote in person if you decide to. If you bring your mail ballot with you, it will be surrendered or spoiled before you vote in person.
- If you choose not to receive a ballot by mail:
You will vote in person at your designated polling location.
Your choice only affects how your ballot is issued, not your right to vote in person.
