Urban Roots Summer Farm Program 2026
Thank you for your interest in the Urban Roots Summer Farm Program! The Summer Farm Program is an opportunity for teenagers within the greater Austin area to make friends while learning about and engaging with the local food system. This summer, 36 high schoolers from around Austin will work on our east farm with Urban Roots staff and community volunteers Tuesday through Friday, 8:30am - 2:30pm from June 2nd-July 10th. We’ll do farm work, cook, go on field trips to other organizations, and participate in workshops to learn about regenerative agriculture, social justice and more. Please read the following information and complete the application!
Requirements and Application Process
To be eligible for this program, participants must: (1) Be in high school by the start of the 2026-2027 academic school year. If you are unsure about this requirement, please email programs@urbanrootsatx.org (2) Be present and attend the entirety of the Summer Farm Program. You must submit an application by April 10th. Applications submitted by the Early Decision deadline of March 13th will receive priority placement within the program. Once you complete your application we will reach out to you at the email provided on the application to invite you for an interview on a specific day and time.
