The BCSC´s "AWAG Scholarship" program provides two participants with the opportunity to attend the AWAG 70th Annual Leadership Conference from April 26-30, 2026 at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort in Garmisch.

 

Applicant Eligibility:

1. All sponsors or dependents assigned to and living within the Grafenwoehr and Vilseck community are eligible to apply.

2. All applicants must be available to attend the entire period from April 26-30, 2026.

3. A complete application package including a short essay has to be submitted by March 1, 2026, 11:59pm.

 

The Scholarship includes:

1. Conference fees to attend the AWAG 70th Annual Leadership Seminar, a full week´s worth of participation, attending classes and workshops and networking.  

2. Lodging (double-occupancy) at Edelweiss Lodge & Resort as well as half-board and tickets to two evening events. Single-room upgrades are available to purchase at the participant´s own expense.

3. Travel to and from Garmisch will NOT be provided, but may be arranged with other participants from the local area. 

 

Please answer all questions in a short essay not to exceed one page (11pt Font, Single Spaced). Please do not include your name in your essay. Applications will be scored anonymously.

These questions are to help you as a candidate to think about your role in the community and to inspire you to grow and develop as an aspiring leader in any area of your community wherever you go.

1. How will attending as a participant at Americans Working Around the Globe (AWAG) Annual Seminar 2026 help you aspire to grow as an aspiring leader in the community? 

2. Outline at least three ideas how you plan to implement knowledge and skills you learned at the Annual Seminar into your everyday (volunteer) life. 

3. Why would you like to attend the seminar and what does it mean to you?
