Thank you for your interest in our Faculty Professional Development Survey. This year, the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty is collecting feedback from faculty about their experience with professional development opportunities here at CMU. Faculty can participate in either (or both) a survey or focus group.
Description
The survey is designed to learn more about faculty's experiences with professional development throughout their career and how our office can further support faculty during their time at CMU. We define professional development as any synchronous or asynchronous program, workshop, membership, or resource that contributes to your growth as a faculty member.
The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. There are a total of 19 questions (12 close ended questions, 3 open ended questions, and 4 demographic questions). All questions are optional.
Use of Data
Data collected from the survey will be used internally by the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty to refine existing programs and/or create new opportunities to support faculty. Our office may share a summary of findings from the survey and focus group with other CMU leaders and offices. All collected data will be anonymous and shared in aggregate form.
Eligibility
This focus group is for any non-visiting faculty from any school/college, track, rank, full-time/part-time status, and CMU location. We are looking to understand the experience of faculty who plan to continue at CMU and are not in a visiting position.
Although "Special Faculty" includes a variety of positions, postdocs, graduate students, staff, and visiting faculty are not eligible to participate in the survey at this time.
